This is one of those handy recipes that makes a fast yet elegant party pleaser. Serve alongside a cheese and olive assortment for an appetizer plate.

Ingredients

6 sheets phyllo dough
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 cup freshly grated good-quality parmesan cheese

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°.

2. Cut phyllo dough in half widthwise. Brush each half lightly with melted butter, using a pastry brush.

3. Sprinkle each with 2 teaspoons cheese. Roll up tightly like a cigar, so that it is 11 inches long and ½ inch wide.

4. Brush the tops with more melted butter and sprinkle evenly with 1 ½ to 2 teaspoons cheese.

5. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown and crisp. Serve at room temperature.

Yum! I love this recipe! Something similar I saw was from Paula Dean: She wrapped bread sticks with Bacon and sprinkled with Parm and Sesame seeds.
