ASOS | ASOS Cut-Out Back Dress at ASOS

Seen this dress in the sale on ASOS, a steal at £22.00.

I've been wearing a few cut out back dresses lately, and this is so cute especially with the button detail. You can get it in red or navy blue- but I think I'm leaning towards the red.

What do you guys think? Teamed with gladiator sandals for my holiday in Florida in August.

I just wrote an article with tips about cut-outs. Here is the link in case anyone is interested in reading it: http://natachadelosangeles.onsugar.com/

I think that dress would be appropriate for almost any time, certainly not too casual for all but the most elegant occasions at the beach. I think it would be absolutely fetching with a nice tan too! As to the stick on bras, well, yes I have tried them... with almost disastrous results. I was very happy with the first time I tried one for a short trip and even enjoyed the extra cleavage. However when I tried one for a longer period, I was sitting in a meeting and....you guessed it: one side slipped. The awful part was that I couldn't excuse myself for another hour, so I sat with my arms folded. I was still covered, so no one really noticed, but it was a warning to me. I have tried all sorts of techniques, preparation and even not moving very much. I have even written to the manufacturer, to no avail. Unfortunately many women have written about similar experiences and I have since given up on the idea, not willing to risk this kind of revelation in front of close company. I am no longer endowed with the helium of youth, but I hope it works for you. Just beware trying them in warm climates.

Eleutera- would you classify this dress as beachware then and so inappropriate for nipping out for a casual evening meal? Thanks so much for your advice! I'm so excited for coming over. Yes nothing worse than the Carrie Bradshaw look of exposed bra straps! Luckily although my breasts are on the larger side, they are still perky only being 22! :) Have you ever tried a stick on bra? Which just has cups on the front? My mum uses one of these on my recommendation for any backless evening dresses as even though she has a small bust, she prefers having the support/comfort factor of something being there! They do them in La Senza in the UK but I'm sure they'll be around in the US?

Being casual in Florida especially during the summer is important, if not a requirement. As a resident, I think we have passed on the beach attitude towards the rest of the country, although some people tend to overdo the casualness even here. You don't go out to a sit-down restaurant in your beach clothes, for example, but then you never wear hose, even at elegant places in the summer. This dress really is quite lovely. Although being older and more worried about such things, can you wear a bra with this dress? The one thing I absolutely abhor these days is seeing bra straps, even if it's just in the back. Strappy sandals would be perfect for this.

Thanks kty! I'm really worrying what to take with me to Florida. The previous time I came over to Canada and the States I was a bit younger so whatever I wore went. But now I'm a bit more fashion savy :) I'm hoping I'm not going to over dress? America is pretty casual as a whole for going out for dinner etc, will summer dresses, sandals and cardies cut it?! I'm hoping if I just fill up my suitcase with dresses they'll be fine for every occasion?
