I grew up in what would be "sheep country" in Ireland, and florescent spray paint Green, blue, orange, or red, using vertical, horizontal and or slanted lines , in or without a circle. That allowed farmers to find and count their sheep on a mountain from the roa, it also allowed him to move the sheep with a border collie using whistles, without climbing that mountain.
