Any Tips on Conceiving?

Hi Everybody,

Sorry if this has been posted a trillion times already, but does anyone have any tips on successfully conceiving?

I've tried all the typical things you read like taking pre-natal vitamins, eating healthy, exercising, holding my pelvis up after sex (gravity). I keep my fingers crossed every month and every month we're let down.

I'm also currently taking an anti-depressant and I'm curious as to whether that could have anything to do with it or whether it's even safe to conceive while on it.

I don't wanna go through fertility treatments and make a big ordeal out of it, but am I infertile, is he infertile? How does one know? It's so frustrating.

Any advice is welcome, I'm starting to lose faith.

Thanks,
Kaity

I know it´s a bit late to answer to this, but you should try to find out if one of you is infertile as soon as possible. Sometimes is something easy to fix so it will afford you some suffering. And if it´s not as easy there are a lot of ways to solve them, and some take a while, so it´s better to start as soon as possible.

That makes sense. I would think that as long as I stop before I get pregnant, nothing harmful could get to the baby.

¡I agree with you sweetk8ty76! And don´t believe that it takes you longer to conceive if you are a smoker, the problem is that cigarrettes can affect your baby´s health as the smoke goes straight away to the baby. I saw it in a documantary.

Yeah. I'm just a stress smoker. It's not that hard to quit for me if my life is OK.

OH, I'M SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR DIFFICULTY, BUT HAVE YOU PRAYED? I MEAN SINCERELY PRAYED WITH ALL YOUR HEART? IF I CONTINUE, I MAY BECOME PREACHY. BUT BESIDES THAT, THERE IS DOING UNTO OTHERS...JUST PLAIN OLD GOOD DEEDS. I'M ASSUMING YOU ARE MARRIED, SO GET YOUR HUSBAND TO PRAY WITH YOU. EVERYTHING COUNTS WITH GOD. EVERYTHING! GOOD LUCK.

Maybe not smoking and drinking coffee. I heard that you shouldn't do that if trying to conceive.

Thanks Carla. I just relocated and need to find doctors around here. I'm 31, I don't know if they would consider that young or not. I would think not, but I guess you never know.

One more thing, In my case I have a theory on why I´m not pregnant yet. And it´s because during this time I´ve adopted a female dog who used to be kicked by her owner, she´s really happy living with us right now and with a baby maybe I´d never had taken her... Plus my boyfriend has just asked me to marry him, and I preffer to be married before having a child.

Hi Kaity!!!! Well, as far as I´m concern you should visit your gynecologist after a year trying to conceive, although it depends on your age, if you are young they make you wait longer. I´ve been trying to conceive for almost a year now, but for the last three months I´ve just stopped worrying and I just think that it´ll happen whenever has to happen. Obviously if it takes much longer I´ll pay a visit to the doctor.
