The Beauty and the Budget's Budget
So, I've had to do some figuring for all of my expenses to see where I should cut back and what I can do to maintain my (somewhat) accommodating lifestyle. And although I only received this money for the past year, I honestly can't tell you how I ever lived without it or how I'm going to go back to life without the extra income.
But I have made some cut backs, and I'd thought I'd share with you, dear readers, because if you're anything like me, you might need some help budgeting too.
- Remove internet service off of cell phone: Savings $30/mo.
- Cancel tanning salon membership: Savings $45/mo.
- Work more hours at part time job: Credit $128/mo.
- Bring lunch to work: Savings $50/mo.
- No impulse shopping: Savings $50/mo.
- No after 5 cocktails: Savings approx. $25/mo.
- Expand blog design business: Credit $50/per blog design
The most difficult thing I will have to live without is removing the Internet from my cell phone. I have a Blackberry, and I've thoroughly enjoyed using my Facebook app., Google Maps, and having my gmail synched to my phone. However, I'm just going to have to revert back to the old school way of using Facebook, getting directions, and checking emails all through my laptop.
I also don't like the idea of cutting out the tanning salon, but really, I only go about four times a month, if even that. Besides, the summer is here and pretty soon my pool will be clean, too.
On a final note, I am developing a blog design business for those of you who are interested. I am a part time graphic designer, so the blog design business would be another side project of mine. I've already designed a logo and site for Fashion Revolutionaires, which you can see here. If you're interested, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
