Best of 2009: Body Moisturizer

Whether you go for body butters, lotions, oils, or another kind of moisturizer, just about everybody can benefit from a good moisturizer. An effective one can feel like a lifesaver when cold weather leaves our skin raw, flaky, or chapped. I'll reveal my favorite of the year when we roll out the Sugar Awards next week, but which one do you reach for every time?

I use to like Nivea SOS Relief Body Lotion, but I recently use only organic oils, like sweet almond oil, jojoba, coconut etc. My skin feels great, plus those oils are free from parabens and other bad stuff.

Probably unscented Jergens. I like the Vaseline line too.

This is tough - I love my Olay Quench in the summer - just a hint of sparkle. In the winter I'm using a combination of Burt's Bees Lemon Bath Oil followed up with Aveeno Lotion. The Aveeno is great - my husband can use it and he gets rashes from just about every lotion but this!

Kiehl's Hand & Body Moisturizer in Grapefruit - a little pricey compared to some of the other options, but it isn't greasy and it absorbs really well!

Aveeno, hands down! It absorbs quickly, it's not overly scented, and it leaves the skin soft all day!

I love scented body lotions, but in the winter, the only lotion that can relieve my super-dry skin is Nivea Extra Enriched Lotion. It's a little on the heavy/greasy side, but it lasts ALL day and makes my skin feel so soft.

Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion. (In the white packaging, not the green--that smells very medicinal.) It really helps me get through the harsh Minnesota winters.

Bath and Body Works re-formulated their body creams recently, and wow do I love them. I used to just keep one by the bed for my feet at night so I go to bed smelling nice (my boyfriend appreciates it). But now it's my everyday after shower cream, I used to use the Sephora store brand body butter before - BBW is expensive but much less so than the Sephora stuff and I like that I can mix and match scents.

I like using Philosophy lotions. My skin smells great (Inner Grace) and has never been so soft.

Olay Quench for extra dry skin! It smells so good, leaves my skin silky and has a little bit of sparkle.

My family has always used Curel and Johnson's baby lotion. It's what I grew up what, so that's what I use now. I love the scent of Johnson's and Curel just feels really light on the skin.

Nivea is my fav always has been...Can never go wrong with a day to day lotion like Nivea. My skin gets super dupper dry in the winter so I always have a blue bottle in hand!

Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon, the only scented lotion I like.
