Best foundation for Asian skin?

I once found this foundation that perfectly matched my skin tone so I bought a couple of bottles of it. Amazingly it has lasted me a few years because I don't really wear it on a daily basis. I'm more of an eyeliner and lip gloss kind of gal. Anyway, I am down to the last drops and unfortunately for me, this particular foundation is no longer made. The whole idea of searching for new foundation is intimidating to be sure because my constant problem that I've always had is most foundations are too pink for my skin tone. And I certainly don't have the money to try one and have it be useless or not what I want. So I'm hoping a few Sugars in this group might know of a brand that carries the best colors for Asians, or maybe a place that where I can test them out first before buying.

Help? Anyone?

I have been using the Urban Decay minerals powder for many years now. I only use it to cover up blemishes or uneven skin tone so it lasts a while! I use the tint, Hallucination. It's great and not too pricey! You should definitely try it out!

I would pass on Bare Escentuals. I find it makes most ethnic women look ashy...

Hey, you should try the Exact Match Mineral foundation in Golden Beige! It will match you perfectly. It has a yellow undertone and gives a smooth, matte finish with pure minerals. It is the best mineral makeup for Asian skin! You can get a free sample kit too! It will also not clog your pores and is noncomedegenic.

I have always learned to use yellow undertones with asian skin "If the lion lies down with the lamb, the lamb must be replaced frequently." --Attributed to Martin Luther In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist violence of September 11, 2001.

I am a little behind, so you may have already gotten something, but I work at Sephora and I find that Make Up For Ever and Laura Mercier both work well on Asian skintones. Or, if you want to go with a power foudation, Bare Escentuals.

I am half asian, with very yellow undertones, and it used to be extremely hard for me to find foundations. There are quite a few lines, like the ones mentioned above, to fit every budget. For inexpensive: Max Factor, Physicians Formula. For moderate: Spehora's own house brand For moderate to expensive: Shiseido, Shu Eumura, MUFE, BECCA (my personal fave), Smashbox, and Lorac. Good advice on the SPF and pictures, CCee!

I'm with many on the Make Up For Ever (sooo many colours) and MAC (even though I haven't bought it myself I do know they have amazing foundations and that they have NW shades (neutral with red/pink (warm) undertones) and NC shades (neutral with yellow/green (cool) undertones). I went shopping for a foundation with an Indonesian friend once and we found her perfect match at Max Factor, so check that out too. Smashbox has great colours as well, so many to choose from. Here is another foundation tip. If you're applying foundation for a picture, make sure your foundation (actually every product you use, but especially the foundation) doesn't have a SPF (UV-filter). This makes your skin look more grey in the picture.

Definitely try MAC and MUFE they have such a wide range of warm and cool colours to suit every skin tone.

Jessie - True but I'm saying in general. I think she should try brand that has a lot of varieties such as MAC, MUFE, BE, (...).

Probably MUFE, Cover FX, Becca and MAC, though I hate MAC foundation by the way. It's very scented and heavy and the Yellow tones are kind of extreme. Mineral Make Up is also an excellent option. I would recommend MUFE and Bare Esecntuals. Tabloid I don't think every brand has "Asian" colored foundation or that they do it right and have a variety of colors. This girl is clearly browner as well.

Honestly, every brand has "asian" color foundation. You just need help to find the one that match with your skintone and the right light spot when you're trying the foundation. I use MAC, MUFE and Gerlain.
