Here in the OC...Dairy Queens are everywhere. Some of them don't sell regular stuff like hamburgers. I went to one in Santa Ana (took wrong exit) and the DQ was selling Chinese food and I was like---WTH? Weird.
My Grandma used to send me letters she had written on the back of DQ napkins. When I was little I thought that was very cool. She hung out there with her friends for coffee. Can't think of DQ without my thinking of my Grandma.
Oh a cookie dough blizzard with peanut butter syrup is on point! Now I want one, and we don't have a DQ here!
DQs are awesome, and so are the people who use to work there. ;)
The closest one that I know of is in Natchez, Mississippi. And then we passed one once on our way to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for an LSU Game. How did you get so lucky Aud?? I remember when I was little, I'd see those commercials for the chocolate covered ice cream and think it must be what heaven tasted like.
We don't have DQs in LA either, BUT I was just there yesterday (thank you Ann Arbor!) and after much debate, I swayed from the usual Blizzard I used to get as a kid to the Oreo Brownie Earthquake. It was delicious.
Are you ready for the shock of a lifetime? We don't have Dairy Queens here. What the hell is that about? It's the South, dammit! All other Southern states have them except us. BOOOOOO. I've NEVER had Dairy Queen. Not once in my life.
Blizzard. I'm not a big fan of ice cream so I chose Blizzard as long as there are tons of chunks of candy & chocolate. And I always eat the candy first, then some ice cream, and then throw like half away.
Oh shiz.. Definitely a blizzard!! I don't even like ice cream that much but I could soo go for one of those right now  We got this Reeses Peanut Butter Cup ice cream from Coldstones a couple weeks ago and dayuuuuuuum it was so effing good!!
Blizzard, Peanut Buster Parfait, or dipped cone?
Well?
