Brighten Up

Most Mondays, I just can't seem to let go of the weekend and get myself prepped for work. I really don't know anyone who wakes up on Mondays excited for the work week ahead! To counter my rather depressed mood, I like to Brighten Up with some color. I recently found these trousers on sale (we all know how much I love Alice & Olivia high-waist trousers!) so I couldn't wait to wear them with my yellow blazer at the office. I balanced out the brights with black heels, bag, and belt to keep the look professional (looking like Rainbow Bright's sister isn't a good thing at the office). A note to petites: I usually gravitate towards skirts so I don't have to worry about hemming, but high-waist pants are a fabulous alternative and are amazing on shorter ladies. They elongate the legs and give curves to an otherwise boyish figure.
