Me & Jason went to see this movie tonight. It's not going to be a movie everyone enjoys. It's made to look very amateurish - like a home video. It's also a monster movie so it has a few cheesy parts. We both REALLY liked it though. It was something different, and it was as realistic as a monster movie can be, lol I'd recommend it but have an open mind - it's not a special effects blockbuster type movie.

PS - if you go see it, stay in the theater since there's stuff after the credits.

They really didn't show it that much - one scene pretty close to the end they got a pretty good view of it. The other parts - you'd see a tail, the body, or maybe a tentacle (sp?) but that's about it.

From what I remember, it was just kissing. I think the language got rough at parts but nothing he hasn't heard from most other PG-13 movies probably. Every kid I know that has seen it has been bored silly though, lol

yeah, I think that info is part of the ARG for the movie. I know some of Jason's ARG friends are playing it. :) It's really not a scary movie - I think you'd be okay watching it.

The monster was disturbed by oil drilling in the ocean. The same company that did the drilling had a satellite that crashed, and you can see it fall in the background of the last scene. Kind of a scavenger hunt for nerds. I still don't want to see the movie (:baby:) but I want to see a picture. of the monster. There is a lot of fan art already, but I can't find a still.

Yeah, it sounded like "Help us" and we had to google it when we got home too! lol Apparently something fell in the ocean behind the girl in the last Coney Island scene, and we missed that one too!

lol, he made me go look it up after I told him. It's actually just a gibberish sound clip. You have to record it and play it backwards to hear the message. Leave it to Abrams to keep his fanboys busy.

LOL Sticky - it wasn't much. It was a voice recording that said "It's still alive". I should have put a disclaimer - if you get motion sickness, do not watch this one!

This is a movie I was very curious about, since the previews don't give you much of and idea of what it is. Thank you for the review!! I love a good monster movie :) I will check it out with the hubby on his day off.
