Conversation with Brandon

Brandon is a motor mouth. He talks non-stop all day long. It's not really a problem until bedtime. He uses talking as a way to keep himself awake, but at the same time, that's when he comes up with cute conversations.

Here's ours last night.

B: Mom, you need to get a job.
M: I do? I thought I might wait until next year when you start Kindergarten.
B: No, you need to get one now so you can buy me more toys.
M: (laugh) We'll see.
B: If you get a job, you'll be at work all day. Jake will be in school all day. Daddy will be at work all day, and I'll stay home and clean.
M: You can't stay home by yourself. You'd have to go to daycare.
B: Daycare...daycare is for babies. I'll stay home and clean.
M: Well Brandon, if I left you home all alone while I went to work, I'd go to jail.
B: Oh, well, I guess you can stay home.

I take it he doesn't want to go to daycare. I hope he still likes preschool, because he starts next month. Eek.

haha clique. He helps me A LOT when Jake isn't around. He's my little shadow. He'll help me rinse dishes off and put them in the drain, he'll carry laundry to his room, he'll sweep the floor, and he dusts. I hate to admit this, but I'm really enjoying having Jake back in school. :p When they're together, they're either screaming from playing or screaming from fighting with each other. :/

How cute!! I love how their minds work. Bedtime is one of my favorite times to have conversation with my kids.

Maybe he just forgot how much he enjoyed it last year since he's been away for a little while. That's so cute that he said he would stay home and clean though!!

Yeah, it is. He only goes 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. It's mostly coloring, making crafts, going over the alphabet and numbers, so there's really not much he's learning. It does help him get used to being away from me and in a school enviroment though (although when he goes to K next year, it'll be for 7 1/2 hours every day except Wednesdays, which is only 4 1/2 hours). He went last year and enjoyed it, so I don't know why he's not looking forward to it this year.

:rotfl: that is very sweet of him to offer to clean the house while you are at work. Pre-school is more structured than daycare, right? like more like school (duh) & less like playtime?
