Deceptively Delicious - tell me what you think

Anyone have thoughts on Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld? Do you like the recipes? Do you have a favorite recipe from the book? What have your kids liked the best? Anyone have the Magic Bullet and do you like it?

I got the book for Christmas but have only used it about a handful of times. It takes a lot of prep work, but I think the benefits are worth it. Anything I've tried has been pretty tasty, but I'm not a picky eater and my kids for the most part are not, either. I actually wanted the book to improve the diet of everyone in the house. We don't eat enough vegetables! This seems to be a great way to add them in. I made scrambled eggs and added pureed cauliflower. That is pretty easy to do and it tasted good.

Can't wait to hear what other people think!

:coffee: Yeah, Jessica Seinfeld likes the Magic Bullet for when you are pureeing a small amount of food. She recommends a full size food processor for lots of pureeing. As for the Sneaky Chef that is interesting about the jar of baby food in meatloaf. For DD's meatloaf you use carrots (not baby food) and it is pretty good. I also tried cauliflower and that worked as well. I'm all about experimenting! There is some delicious banana bread in the book as well which uses cauliflower.

The Magic Bullet is a little blender that makes like a single serve smoothie size worth of stuff. I would think if you have a regular blender and possibly even a food processor you wouldn't need the extra appliance.

I heard about this book when she went on her publicity tour as well as the law suit. Haven't read either of them. My kids aren't too picky, but I am very interested in any fantastic (sneaky :sneaky-evil: ) recipes you discover. Now back to this Magic Bullet :?

Good question, I wondered about this too. So like Brendelwoman asks - does anyone use the Magic Bullet?

My daughter thinks she hates carrots, but I put diced ones into her scrambled eggs and she eats them without problem.

I read the Sneaky Chef, and liked it. I think there is a lawsuit going on where Jessica Seinfeld is accused of stealing ideas/recipies from the Sneaky Chef to create her book (Deceptively Delicious). Don't know if anything came out of it, though. I did steal an idea from The Sneaky Chef where whenever I make meatloaf, I throw in a jar of baby food (either carrots or spinach or some sort of vegetable), though!

I have never heard of it either  More veggies sounds good to me though!

I found a site that compared similar recipes out of "Deceptively Delicious" and "The Sneaky Chef" and the families liked the recipes out of TSC more. I have both books but have yet to make a recipe from either one.

Sorry I can't help you because I have not heard of Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld nor do I have the magic bullet. I am lucky that my kids aren't picky eaters either. My kids love when we do a salad night which is a way I get in a lot of vegetables also my kids loved grilled and steam vegetables. I am very fortunate.
