Does your child sleep with a security blanket or special toy?

I have given my son countless soft little blankets, soft stuffed animals, but from day one, he decided he was too "tough" for any of those. His security blanket? Well that would have to be trains. He first fell in love with Thomas (the little wooden train). He slept with him, went to the potty with him, ate his meals with him. Next came Percy, then James, then Douglas. Now he's moved on to a fisher price train that is actually my 1 year olds. His little obsessions last a few weeks or a month then he's on to the next "train" to be his constant companion. Does your child sleep with anything special?

My 8-year-old son sleeps with stuffed animals. He changes them up sometimes and will sleep with a new one every now and them. He even sleeps with a baby doll that we bought this past summer while on vacation. We were shopping for an Ashton Drake doll for my step daughter and he was looking at the other much cheaper dolls and he saw a boy doll that dressed in a baseball outfit that was really cute. I couldn't believe it when he wanted it and I was reluctant to buy it but it for him but he has slept with it every night. He doesn't play with it though, it's just a security thing for him I guess. He even named him Marlin after the fish from Finding Nemo. He would also kill me if he knew I ever told this story. **LOL**

Do I count? LOL Other than still sleeping with me most nights and still needed rocked to sleep every night (they're 5 and 6), no they don't have a certain thing they have to sleep with.

My little guy has one of those little satin-trimmed blankies that has a stuffed animal attached to it. His is a froggy. It's really cute, and as soon as we hand it to him he cuddles and knows it's time to sleep. I had to laugh at the trains because I have a friend who's Son chose the same comfort toy. He sleeps with his Thomas train and a Thomas book. They aren't exactly soft, but he cuddles and goes to sleep with them anyways!

Well as i am 14 i will say i am a child and i sleep with my special blancket my gran ( who passed away) knitted for me and my teddy, Tessa, who i've had the day i was born!!! i feel like an idiot now!!! both my little ones have gotten attached to baby blankets that used to mine when I was a babe. They are super soft and look like new after a ton of washings. They are fine without them, but they do like them around. they each have a favorite animal or two as well, but nothing has to go with us everywhere- thank goodness.

My daughter has a soft doll and a giraffe lovey in her crib, but I don't think she is particularly attached to them. The absolute necessary item is her Fisher Price Aquarium.

Aww thats cute hvanness! Elijah likes his Curious George stuffed animal but he's not super attached to it. He'll take his elephant or something else if George is unavoidably detained in the washing machine.

My 4 year old, since day 1, has been attached to burp cloths. Not just any. They are Carter's brand, terry cloth, from Target. I always had them on my shoulders when feeding, then on his lap in his bouncy seat for spit ups, etc. These are now his little security blankets and he sleeps with at least 3 of them every night. I allow him to take 1 to preschool with him daily for naptime. We call them his "towels" now- as to not sound so babyish as "burp cloth!"
