Mae West, for those interested, wrote some remarkably interesting books about her life. oddly enough, she was the consummate smart woman who knew how to use the system and understood it with great intuition and effort. She is certainly one of the more fascinating screen legends and quite a model for my interpretation of feminism.
With regards to Mata Hari there is a great deal of controversy over her execution. There is no credible evidence linking her to spying. She had the misfortune of being friendly with some high ranking Germans.
