Yes I have beautiful china and love using it. However, the only drag is that it is gold edged, so that means handwashing. I have cream colored everyday dishes that can also work on a fancy guest table, so I do alternate. I believe beautiful things are meant to be used rather than gathering dust in my china cabinet. My mom gave me my china, so I think of her each time I set my table.
i love the blue willow pattern! also love "eternal". i didn't register for any when we got married but when my mom died her china became mine. it's all still at my dad's. i've really enjoyed using it when i'm down there for Christmas, Easter, new year's eve, and a "just because" dinner or 2. probably because there were so many years when we couldn't use anything fragile because of jen i look forward to setting out the really pretty things now.
my regular everyday dishes are two sets. one my hubby had before we married and one i had before we married. his are a really dark blue and mine are white with pink touches and a flower. so masculine and feminine :rotfl:
i have 2 sets and that is why i didnt register for china.. i have my nanas tiffany set and a set of 1950s nokimori set with gold trim from my stepfather when he was over there in japan ... i use phaltsgraff for every day use
I don't have any. I don't even have a decent set of everyday dishes. :rotfl: I used to, but I'm clumsy and I've broken a lot of it over the years. I plan to buy a nice sturdy plain white dish set at some point.
Yeah, we have a set...but it's nothing sentimental or something I picked out. The hubby actually bought it. It's very simple...white with silver trim...and I don't even know who makes it. Anyway, it's looking kind of shabby since, I use it as every day wear and put it in the dishwasher.
I have a nice set of everyday dishes that work fine for holidays and company so there's no need for fine China. It would just be collecting dust. I do have some nice silverware that my mother left me but it's never seen the light of day. I'm way too lazy to be polishing silver all the time.
I don't have any. I think it's because for our wedding, I knew we'd move into a small apartment and I knew that I'd never use it. Plus I'd need a China cabinet to store it all. I might consider buying a nice China set for a big anniversary when we're living in my dream home.
Fine China?
Do you have Fine China? If so, do you ever use it?
