From Queens to the East Village

To those who don't know me or didn't notice, I've been off line for pretty much two months now. I've finally resurfaced to sugarland and am thrilled to see that this group has grown so much since I last signed on. Thanks for joining all!

I just recently moved from one of the lovely boroughs that is Queens and let me just say it feels awesome. I lived in Forest Hills, which is a great area (especially if you want to have a family and not be too too far from the city). However if you want to enjoy all that Manhattan has to offer, it's so much nicer to actually live in Manhattan. It's an amazing change, the village is so convenient and so alive... there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from and I love being so close to Union Square! Of course there are drawbacks... for example: rent... way higher as you can well imagine; space: so much smaller than in Queens, which isn't all that big to begin with... but it's all about compromise and what your priorities are . Now, I'm at a point in my life where i want to enjoy myself and discover things... so I feel I've made a good move.

I'm sorry if this post got kind of personal, but I feel you need to get personal with this city in order to survive and enjoy the ride.

Thanks Red, Thanks everyone!!!! I truly am having the best time in my life, I don't know if it's the move or the new bf... but things are really wonderful and I can't stop smiling. Manhattan is such a fun place, with endless possibilities as to entertainment, food and people, it certainly is an exciting place to be.

Welcome back! Congrats on your move into Manhattan - I cant imagine a more exciting place to live for a young woman (which makes me sound like an old lady, but whatever, it is true). Enjoy it!
