Gainsbourg's longtime boyfriend and spouse is the French actor and director Yvan Attal, with whom she has two children, Benjamin and Alice. On 5 September 2007, Gainsbourg was rushed to a Paris hospital where she underwent surgery for a cerebral haemorrhage.
