The contest is over and maybe a lesson can be learned for us all. I think that continuing to complain and point out the flaws of this contest and it's judging isn't going to change much of anything.
I congratulate the winners, I think that y'all did a good job and I'm proud of you guys. And I am proud and of all of the people who participated! We all made fabulous looks!!!
I think that fashion should be it's own reward and if you truly love it, you can understand what I am saying.
Who knows... Maybe the winners truly needed the prize! And we all should be happy for them!
Thank you shopstyle for the contest! I had a tons of fun making my looks and I enjoyed looking at all of the SS stylists do their thing. I can't wait for the next contest! It should be fun!!!
If the mission stated was to use Juicy items from the Nordstrom store then how does one win without following the mission. Were the winners pulled out of a Juicy Couture hat from the Nordstrom store? Why even state a mission causing numerous people to waste there time using only a limited selection of Juicy items putting themselves at a disadvantage to those accessing all possible Juicy items? Why state that a complete profile is required, causing people again to waste time typing up a supposedly required profile? Why state that judges will look at interest generated and images uploaded? Once again leaving contestants who took the time to read the full contest description to waste time searching the internet for images and soliciting comments from other members. THIS CONTEST WAS ONE BIG WASTE OF TIME for any person who read the rules. I am relieved that Nordstrom was not involved in the contest b/c I shop there frequently, but I am sad to no longer be shopping at Juicy. Thanks S
The rules say you must have a complete profile. 50% of the score was based on creative write ups (including in the profile). What different set of criteria did the judges use to pick winners. Many winners do not have a single word in their profile.
I posted comments on a few pages that simply stated that the look was cute but I was surprised that they won seeing as they didn't follow the mission stated on the contest or have any interest shown in their looks, or images uploaded. My comments were deleted from the site. They were not offensive. What is the criteria exactly for deleting comments.
i have to agree with mella alot of the winning looks were very cliche and nothing special they werent any diamonds just a couple of czs and crystals i re read the rules and i also dont think its fair that people under 18 cant win , many of us including me are just as talented and should deserve a chance as well . ass too fab sugers comment i dont think that the winners looks were as original as many others i have seen . i am dissapointed in shopstyle.
Hey girls! Thanks again to everyone who submitted. To clarify, the winning looks had to be 2/3 Juicy items but they could be from any store, not just Nordstrom. We were blown away by all the great looks you all did, and the ten winners stood out with their originality, style and complete outfits. We thank you all for entering and hope you'll be a part of our next fun giveaway
The rules were clear (??), and like most people here, I re-read the conditions of this contest: "Your mission is to use the selection of Juicy Couture items in the Nordstrom store on the website ShopStyle"...ok??... "In addition to the required identifying information, an eligible entry must include: title and description (25 words maximum) for the look, a complete outfit consisting of at least 3 items per look (2 / 3 of which must be Juicy Couture-brand items). " ...ok??... "Diversity. Use the full range of ShopStyle's website - variety across prices, ages, and sizes. Also include shoes and accessories applicable to when your style ."...Ok???..." Additionally, the judges will look favorably on submissions that are full of interest, we encourage you to upload an image and solicit comments. Use the "set image" and "add comment" buttons on each ."...... Look ok, but I also understand that in the terms and conditions, it is a little confused anyway! All 2 / 3 items should be juicy coutur
Two of the looks are breaking the rules of more than the 25 words maximum as well.. sorry I just really think LuckyLola should have won so Im being nitpicky!
I just started a new group called still a winner. Everyone can post what they would have bought if they had won $500 to nordstrom. To give credit where I think it is due I think Lucky Lola's butterflies look was the best.
I feel that most of the winners looks are not full of interest or using the site to its full extent with all sizes prices etc... and with pics to complement anyways like Eselle said not a judge and rules are made to be broken:) I just know there were alot better ones to choose from!
prestidigitation, I think that there are up now... Daisy2007, I sorta agree with you. Some of the looks that I thought were extremely thought out, done well, and most complete were not the winners. But, hey! I'm not a judge!!!
Uh, I hate my self for saying this, but something fishy went on with the judging of this contest. There were so many FABULOUS looks that were deserving of a win. I am happy for the winners though, I just wish the looks had been judged based on the rules that everyone was given - including originality and .... hey, I'm gonna just say it "the best looks didn't win." OK, I said it. Next.
Many winners did not use the 2/3 items juicy couture items from Nordstrom. Additionally, the rules state that judges will look favorably on those who solicited interest and comments. Many winners had no fans or comments on their looks meanwhile some people with great looks had fans and comments in the double digits.
I know what you are saying! I mean, I am very happy for those who won!!! They have great style! But, I feel really confused... What was the point of creating those rules?
