Got a hangover? Eat a plum!
This very sour pickled plum may just be the cure to that morning-after-partying headache and tummy trouble. These will set you back about $14, but they will last quite a while in the pantry and when it comes to a nasty hangover, I'll pay just about anything to get rid of it. Luckily, I didn't need one this New Year's Day morning, but after some Christmas party debauchery, it did the trick! I was amazed! I learned about these miracle plums from Alicia Silverstone's cookbook, The Kind Diet. They can be found at most health food stores in the Asian section. And look for umeboshi vinegar and paste--they're great for marinades and dressing! (I'll post some recipes soon).
