Group Therapy: Do You Have Any Party Ideas?

I was wondering if you guys would be able to give me some great party and gift ideas. My husband's 30th birthday is coming up and I need some help on what to get him and what kind of party I should throw for him. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Take him to a sporting event, REALLY enjoy yourself, and when you both get home, take VERY good care of him in bed and when it's all over, whisper happy birthday : )

It really depends on your husband. If he is a partyer than invite everyone over for a surprise blowout bash. If he is more laid back have an intimate dinner for 2 in. If you need any help planning, don't hesitate to PM me!

For my 30th my friends and family had a "nostalgia" themed party, gave me gifts they had gotten on ebay or at flea markets like SIMON, and DVD's of Family Ties , Garbage Pail Kids cards, Old LPs of my favorite Bands framed (you can get album frames at any craft store or Target)It was awesome, reminded me that although i am older, i am still a kid at heart and to always embrace that.

Call up a few close friends get some party decorations set up a bar in your home with beer and liquor. Put on some good music and live up the night... You can go with a theme like Casino night or something. The black jack roll outs can be purchased online or at a party store and if you want to go all out the actual casino tables can be rented with or without dealers.... It a really depends on the personality. Dinner reservations with family and friends... Local bar or vip at a hot Club....

I would do something like what Jessica Simpson did for Nick on Newlyweds.

Depending on where you live, how about Vegas?

Without knowing your husband it is kind of hard to say. If you have a lot of active folks involved attending where you live then do a scavenger hunt based on a theme he likes dealing with the history of your community. You can plan it or use a company that puts them on. Have the hunt culminate with a party. There is always a trip to someplace he likes. For my 30th I wanted to spend it with friends and family scattered across the country. We flew in or drove to Utah and met at my sisters house then drove a few hours south to camp at 9,000 feet elevation and it was awesome. We even had some folks attend that run a dutch oven catering company so the food and friendship was so much fun over the long weekend.

A trip is a great idea, but if you can't afford that, maybe think of what his interests are and plan a party/get-together based on that? For example, my husband is huge into muscle cars...well, cars in general. So for his 30th birthday this year, he's already told me that he wants to get a bunch of people to go to the indoor race track near our house...they have a restaurant and a bar there and whoever wants can do the racing. So if he's really into a specific activity, it might make for a fun party to plan from that.

These are all fantastic ideas gals, thank you! We already are going on a trip this summer, but it's a great idea still! I am thinking along the lines of a small party, but I have never organzied a Birthday Party before! :)

I think we'd need to know more about his personality/type to give you a really good answer on that one. I personally love TheMissus's idea of a trip somewhere! You could also get him one of those adventure gifts - like flying a fighter plane or driving a racecar. For something more low-key, maybe get a bunch of friends together at your local bar or play some paintball maybe.

Do what my husband and I did for each other on our 30th b-days... For his, I booked a trip to a resort in the Turks and Caicos. For my 30th, he booked a week stay at a luxury spa in Arizona.
