Has anyone tried boxed milk before?

This is what I'm talking about:

I'm looking for a type of milk that Jake can pack in his lunchbox for school. This seems to fit what I'm looking for, but does it taste okay?

He has this thermos and the matching food jar, but I'm afraid to put something that spoils as easily as milk in it! Think that would be okay?

I got a small 3-pack of the chocolate flavor from Wal-Mart earlier today. I'll give it to him tomorrow to try out. I'm not sure if they can buy milk at school? They have it in the snack machines, but it's $1 for a bottle. I have to send him two drinks and a drink with lunch everyday, so he usually gets water and juice for his two snack drinks. I don't even know if he'll go through the line at lunch to get the milk. The two days I gave him lunch money this week, he brought the money back and didn't eat a thing. :/ On Wednesday, it wasn't so bad since they get out at 12:30 but Friday, he didn't eat an actual meal (they do have two small snacks) from 6 that morning until 3:30 when he got home from school. He ate in the cafeteria a lot last year, so I'm not sure why he doesn't want to eat in there anymore.

Nope, I'm not a big milk drinker. I would use Jen's suggestion and try it out first. I think that this is the same kind of milk that they offer at Starbucks too so I am sure that you can find somewhere to try it out.

YES! I've tried boxed milk. It's total barf. It taste very artificial. and it's VERY freaky that they can last months without being refrigerated!

They sell this in the little food bar at Target, if you want to try one before you buy a bunch. I'd be nervous about what they put into it to make it not spoil, though. Can he buy milk at school? Or, have you thought about calcium fortified juices?
