How Do You Choose Your Coverage?

I want to switch from a sheer foundation to a tinted moisturizer. Right now, I use NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, however I am not sure I need that kind of coverage every day. The woman in Sephora recommend a tinted moisturizer by Tarte (instead of Benefit's You Rebel), but when I got home I realized that I am seeing little to no coverage! Do you guys have any recommendations? What do you use, a tinted moisturizer or foundation? Help!

I use tinted mosturizer with loose powder on a daily basis and then liquid foundation for special occasions. If you're looking for good coverage, you can try Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. For liquid foundation, I've always been using MAC studio fix fluid. It has amazing coverage but you don't want to use it everyday since it's abit heavy. Hope that helped!

My foundation has to feel light, regardless of coverage level. I usually wear medium to buildable and I use the buildable aspect to skip concealer. I like medium when my skin is good because it perfects and I like medium when my skin is bad because it covers. Full is too fake for me and light to tm is a waste of time and money. Medium coverage foundation can be sheered out if you truly desire. I current wear Clinique Even Better Foundation.

You should try Make-up Forever HD foundation, they are buildable yet feels light to the skin, you can apply them sheer and with a bit more for full coverage.

Hi Angela, I've tried so many tinted moisturizers and I do prefer them to foundation especially during the day, the one I recommend is Paula dorf tinted ,i use the colour monaco , perfect texture and just the right coverage , i also use Ernio laszio Or clarins , I wasn't crazy about the rebel one by benefit, too dark for me and didn't like the texture.

I use a combination. MAC's tinted moisturizer and MUFE's HD foundation. Depending on how much coverage I want...I'll use as little or as much of the MUFE it takes. So if I want light coverage, I just use the tinted moisturizer. A little more coverage...and I'll blend in the MUFE foundation.

Same here snarkypants. My foundation is WAY too dark b/c I bought it in August so I am searching for a new winter product! Thanks for your feedback. :)

in the summer, i use stila's tinted moisturizer, and i love it. it's quick, easy, non-greasy, and has an spf. they don't have a good match for my winter skin...i tan easily, but it fades in the winter. i wish they had a better match for me in the winter, cuz i LOVE this stuff. in the winter, i usually just use clinique's perfectly real foundation as a coverup/concealer. but, if i go out and want to get all pretty-fied, i now use the MUFE hd foundation, because they have the perfect color for my winter tone. i use colorfx primer first though. otherwise, my skin gets too dry. but it covers great!
