I prefer a oil based gentle remover. My FAV is this Japanese brand, called Fancl. It removes EVERYTHING, I swear. After that, I use my regular foaming cleanser. I am all about the foam.
Hiz Wifey,
Depending on your skin type, that may dry out your face. Although, if you don't have any problems and have been doing that for a while now, I don't see why you should stop. :]
I wash my face at night with some sort of Olay Foaming Sensitive Wash lotion with a baby washcloth. When I wear waterproof mascara, or heavy/dark eye makeup, then I use the Olay wash, then follow it up with Maybelline's Oil based mu remover, I put it on a baby wipe (sensitive baby wipes that contain aloe) and then massage it around my eyes. It is very gentle and takes off the rest of my eye MU wonderfully!
all u've gotta do is dab some vaseline go check ur mail then gome back and wipe it off with cotton...it removes everything is not harmful.only useful to our skin........
Update: I'm definitely digging the Clinique Acne Control line. I had a (no bad pun intended) bumpy start, but I'm pretty sure that had more to do with the fact that I was out of town for a few days and going to sleep without washing my face...until afternoon the next day...yikes...anyway. Within days it was all cleared up and it's been great since. The "moisturizer" (sort of misnamed since it's pretty much medication to dry up spots) started drying me out on my chin when I used it twice a day, but after cutting back to once a day and applying a little more face cream that problem was fixed as well. Yay. New product. Still want to try the Purity Made Simple foam though...anyone tried it?
You know what's crazy??!! I can't take of my make up at night before I go to bed, I f I do, I get MAJOR breakouts! But when I do wash my face I use Cliniques complete line of facial cleansers.. they are awesome! I even use to use proactive, just for the minimal break outs every now and then, come to find.. clinique is the OVER ALL BEST!
Thanks for the clarification...I was a little confused when it sounded like so many of us were swabbing our faces that (for breakout prone me as well romaniagirl) would wind up doing more harm than good. The one cleanser that has really seemed to effectively get EVERYTHING off of my face without disastrously dried out results is Loreal's AcneResponse cleanser. It's annoying though that it's only sold as a pack with the toner and lotion, because I go through the toner twice as quickly as the cleanser, and through the cleanser about three times as fast as I do the "lotion" which is really only to dab on trouble spots. Now I'm trying out Clinique's Acne Control line, which is just as good or better at keeping my skin clear as the Loreal, but the foaming cleanser never seems to really get my skin clean. Any recommendations?
As for removing eye makeup...I typically just buy the cheap Rimmel stuff, which works well but does require several swipes. Perhaps I'll try the baby oil or olive oil tricks...
Olive oil works better to remove eye makeup (for me). I discovered it when I was camping (yes, I wear makeup while camping) and forgot my Maybelline remover. I like it better and it's always available, the baby oil works great but it stings my eyes. I use various facial cleanser - scrub, foam, BE cleanser. I switch cause my oily and older.
PS: You must wash your face, unless you're a BE girl, it's really bad for your face to sleep in makeup.
I really only used it on my eyes, it removes water proof make up lickety split!
So it probably works well on the rest too, but it is quite oily, I always cleansed well after.

I would not use baby oil on my face katie. It would probably not bee good for my breakout prone skin. I know most people use it on their eyes to remove makeup.
I always wash my face with soap but my eye makeup still seems to be left on my eyes. I use a Q-tip and put some vaseline on my eyelids and under eyes to remove eye makeup. It works like a charm every time.
I use Cetaphil for my face. For my eyes, I love Essence of Beauty eye make-up remover; it's a really gentle two-layer remover that's non-oily and removes even my longest lasting eyeliner. Plus, it's $5 at CVS. :)
I'm all about Nivea's Cleansing Milk for sensitive skin. I don't break out with it, which is a great plus for me. :D
Then it's Andrea Q's oil-free (i don't like the feeling of oil around my eye area) eye make-up remover pads! :)
I just love Lancome Bi-Facil. It just takes everything off so easily, and it doesn't leave my eye area greasy. Spendy, but I've yet to find a cheaper identical twin.
Garnier Nutritioniste detoxifying towelletes are the BEST! They get every spec of makeup, don't dry out skin, and your skin feels so fresh after using them.
I use some sort of oil based Mabelline eye makeup remover, then use Cetaphil with a warm washcloth to wash the rest of my face. When I run out of my eye makeup remover, I will definitely be switching to baby oil after reading this post!
How do you remove your make up?
