I’ve just booked in for a Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial at the fabulous Elemis Day Spa (which, by the way, is a little slice of heaven in central London. I’d live in the place if I could). I haven’t had a facial for about a year so I am treating myself to one of these babies. It was hard to choose between the gazillions of facials out there - oxygenating, peeling plumping, lymph-node draining... it’s a minefield out there ladies! But I went for this one as it’s clinically proven to visibly resurface skin by up to 75% after one treatment. It uses three targeted enzyme serums to remove the thickening layer of the epidermis and promises to zap blemishes and work on uneven skin tone, superficial facial scarring and fine lines, revealing gorgeously glowified skin. I have a few acne scars and suffer from a bit of blotchiness so it sounds just perfect. For £115 it darn well better be! I will let you know!

I was just wondering how often do you treat yourself to a salon facial? Oh and please comment on what your favourite facial is too!

I love facials - I've had Karin Herzog and Maria Galland facials regularly (usually once a month) in the past but I'm keen to try Elemis, particularly the tri-enzyme facial as I've heard some fantastic reviews and I have problem skin. But I'm wondering if I can justify the cost? It's £60 per facial at an independent salon in Nottingham and as a full-time student, I'm not sure whether I can afford to invest that money in my skin unless I get impressive results! Missy K, I note that it's been 5 months since you had your first (and only?) tri-enzyme facial. Would you mind sharing the benefits, if any, that you noticed?

i personally have not had one ever, however my 2 daughters have one once every 1-2 months, it really really keeps their blackheads at bay

i spend a little extra on products that i can use regularly rather than splurge all at once for a facial. i take really good care of my skin. i am 31 now!!!!

It's my favorite pampering method so I go a few times a year. I used to go once a month (about) but it's just ridiculously expensive after a while, and now I can hardly make time, being a mommy.

I had a couple done to try to help with some skin issues I was having, but I'm not convinced that it actually helped. I don't like them and will likely never have one again. I just don't trust new products on my face, applied by a 'specialist' or not.

I was always afraid of having a facial done. I was worried someone would poke my eye or exacerbate acne issues. I did however, decide to have a string of facials before my wedding, about 3.5 years ago. I had my facials at a Guinot Salon. I had a series of Beaute Neuve treatments (peels) and a couple of Hyrdadermie Treatments (hydrating/firming/toxin release). It made my skin look wonderful! Once a year. I love getting facials. My husband normally gets me a gift certificate to a local day spa for Mother's Day every year. I always use it on a facial. (I'm sure I just jinxed myself, and now I'll get like a new iron or something for Mother's Day...crap!)

Once in a blue moon. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I pretty much take good care of my skin and the last time I did have a facial - sometime LAST year - she said there was no sun damage, looked great, etc. So, frankly, I don't see the point. A new salon opened down the street from me. I called to inquire about facials, but they don't expect to start until May. So, I'm open to go.

I've never had one - I'm with AParker on the whole people-touching-my-face thing. It freaks me out in a major way. As in, I didn't even like it when my BOYFRIEND touched my face. No way would I be able to sit there and let some random stranger put their hands all over my skin. Eeeek. I also do quite regular masques and scrubs, which are less destructive than facials in the long term, I think...

I used to get them once a month, but my financial situation has changed, so now I never do. I loved the glycolic facial best.

I used to get them regularly when I was a teenage and mommy paid. But now I don't feel like I need them, I have naturally good skin and take care of it at home. I prefer to spend my extra money differently (like handbags!)
