I Found Tall Boots!

I found these tall boots ("Tulip" by Jessica Simpson) on Nordstrom under the "wide calves" section a while back and I really liked them, but figured they still might not be wide enough, since a lot of the time even the wide calf ones aren't. But, I showed them to my mom anyway and she got me them for Christmas. And they fit my calves! I love them! I ordered myself the same pair in black after Christmas. Yay!
(I'm sure most of you don't care, but I know I have complained so much about not being able to find tall leather boots wide enough for my calves before, so I thought I'd share.)

My hubby is more thrifty, but sometimes it's to his own detriment. There have been plenty of times where he's passed up on something that he's regretted later. Or we'll buy the cheaper version and it doesn't last very long or doesn't work properly. We try to balance each other out though!

I think it's better that way, honestly. I wish that I were more like my husband in that respect or he were more like me (preferably the latter!). Luckily, I'm rubbing off on him. :)

Stolze, it's the same way with me. I'm the frugal one, and my husband is more "spendy." The "oh, just send your wife shopping" that his friends sometimes say really annoys me, because I actually hate shopping.

Ok, I am going to Nordy's at lunch to try them on - if I like them, I am getting them! :) I feel like I am somewhat being thrifty, cuz most of the cost will come out of a Nordy's gift card I got for xmas! :P

I'm a sucker for my family too. I came back from Christmas shopping with literally 75 cents in my pocket. But when it comes to me I can't even spend all the money on my gift card at once. It's too overwhelming :)

Well I'm very thrifty too, as well as my husband. I just have an occasional splurge once in a blue moon. :)

yeah, my marriage is funny. My husband is the spender. Not me. Usually its different. I remember making myself feel guilty because I bought a little purse/organizer thingy for our trip to magic mountain. I didnt want to bring my purse. I paid $12. It was small enough to where I could tightened the strap and keep in on even whil eon the rides. It worked out really well. But my mom always taught me when you are going to buy something, to wait a month and if you still feel like you just have to have it, then go ahead and buy it. Most of the time, by months end I just don't care anymore and so I don't buy much for myself. Now for my kids thats a different story. I'm cheap with their stuff, I try to be frugal, but I pretty much buy them what they want. :) I'm a sucker for my booboos.,

I hear ya, Stolze. Even when I have the money I can't get myself out of the mindset that I have to be thrifty. And it's weird too because when other people want to spend a ton of money I always say if you got the cash go for it. Guess I can't live by my own motto, haha.

Well, I am super frugal. I grew up real poor and dont part with my money easily, lol. I think the most expensive shoes I ever bought were $100. And that was def. not by choice. My husband had packed for me while I was at work so we could get on the road quickly. We were going to his aunts funeral. Well When we get there I noticed I had no dress shoes, only tennis shoes which dont go real well with a LBD. Well the only store any where near us was a bloomingdales. I also have wide feet, so i had a slim selection. I thought the ones I picked were 50. So I told my husband to buy them while I changed my shoes. We leave the store and he paid $100 and I almost passed out. LOL. Honestly other than that I have NEVER spent over $50 and even that is a stretch for me.

I like them! I have rather small feet too (size 6) and my boots like fine. :) You'll be amazed at how versatile they are.

those are so cute, Sy!! I am debating getting a new pair of boots....these are them....thoughts anyone??? I have really small feet, so am worried they might look weird on me :(

I recently bought a pair of Frye cowboy boots that were about the same price. They were on sale and I've been wanting a pair of cowboy boots for a couple years now, it was well worth the price, and I bought them from a local boutique, so contributing to the local economy is always good. Plus, I wear them almost daily. :D

Soo not my style, yet, I think that is a great outfit! I had images of a short plain black dress, pleated skirt... Your way is much funkier and cooler then mine!
