Joan Jett's Style of Beauty
During the 80's Joan Jett was front and center in the music industry and her style helped to keep her there. She loved her smokey eyes, not to mention her leather outfit. Many have copied her particular style over the years.
How To Look Like Joan Jett
Hair: Keep your hair long and shaggy (preferably black).
Eyes: definitely smokey. I have listed a how-to above.
Cheeks: softer so that they wouldn't compete with her eyes, but enough to warm up her skin tones.
Lips: stain the lips with a deep shade of color, but add no lip gloss.
~In the 80's, all emphasis was on Joan's eyes... perhaps taking the smoky look about as far as one could go.
~Get the smoky eye. The key here is to blend well. Also, make sure to keep all other makeup light. You don't want the rest of your makeup to compete with your eyes.
~Holding the skin of your upper lid taut, apply eyeliner from the inside corner of the eye outward. ~Draw strokes into the lash line. The middle of the line should be a bit thicker than the edges.
~Use a cotton swap to "smudge" the liner.
~Dab an eyeshadow brush into a deep-hued eyeshadow and apply over the eyeliner to set the line. ~Blow on the brush first to remove any excess shadow. ~Layering liner with a shadow is the secret to a perfect smoky eye.
