Key Lime Cake

My fave coffee shop sells this all the time and I fell in love with it. I've went thru millions of recipes and this is the best one. Enjoy!

1 (18.25 ounce) package lemon cake mix
1 1/3 cups vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 (3 ounce) package lime flavored gelatin mix
3/4 cup orange juice

1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
4 cups confectioners' sugar

Combine cake mix, gelatin mix, oil, eggs and orange juice. Pour into three 8 inch cake pans. Bake according to instructions on box. Allow to cool, then frost.
To make the frosting: In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add lime juice and confectioners sugar. Mix well.

i need to move to europe too..for more reasons than one...although id take canada as an acceptable substitute

I need to move to Europe then. I always get way too much food when I go out. I order off the kids menu whenever they'll let me. Well, sometimes.
yayita yayita
Oh yes, thats why europe is way healthy but way inconvenient. One more thing.... FAMILY SIZE does not exist, not even big pasta jars like Prego. everything is teeny tiny. If you have a big family here you would have to buys tons of small packages. nothing comes big absolutely nothing. When you go out to dinner beverages and portions are tiny! LOL like half of what you get in the US

LOL guys. My friends used to tease me..."this one time, on the ranch..." I guessed I talked about that summer a lot. I don't think I've ever actually used a box cake mix. I'm a militant baker. LMAO.
Twinkle Twinkle
I'm sure that's a big part of it Wynter :)
wynter wynter
Maybe that's why your countries are healthier than us Americans! lol
yayita yayita
LOL Twinkle Europeans are way different than americans.. here in Spain everything is made from scratch too
Twinkle Twinkle
LOL Yay...I think most my sentences start with "In Finland" or end with "over here". I'm afraid I sound like that girl from American Pie "This one time at band camp..." Anyway, I can't use any of these short cuts either and always have to make everything from scratch.
yayita yayita
You guys will think Im exagerating, but in Spain..... Yes, I know I complain alot and that alot of my sentences start with "In Spain" LOL But yes, they do not have ready mixes for baking in as many selection as they do in the US. I went to the biggest supermarket chain here and they only had Chocolate brownie mix, white cake mix and a whole bunch of flan mixes....THERES NOTHING TO BE FOUND HERE!!!!
SWEET C SWEET C
ahahahah glad u like it.. u can also double the recipe for meatloaf sandwiches the next day or add gravy and serve it over buttered noodles for a nice easy leftover meal!

Ha ha ha, yah that would not be a good Key Lime Cake. LOL

Oh Gosh, when this showed up in Sugar Rush I thought this was suppose to be a picture of the Key Lime cake and I literally gasp. Like, ew. lol But since its meatloaf yum!
jennifer76 jennifer76
Oh! And my son LOVED it! (Better believe I'm grating in some carrots and green beans next time. LOL)
jennifer76 jennifer76
YumYum Sweet C - we tried your meatloaf recipe tonight, it was awesome! Hubbin (as JV says) and I both thought it was the most moist, tastiest meatloaf we've ever had!! (I only drizzled ketchup on 3/4 of it, because hubbin hates ketchup.)

I love baking, but I'm not any good at it. The thing about baking is that you absolutely need the right tools, pans, and exact measurement. Since I don't have all that, I cant give it a good try.

Woohoo for military wives.

I'm on a part-time military wife (he's in the air guard), but he works civil service for the federal government at an AFB.
SWEET C SWEET C
gosh there really are alot of military wives on here. interesting
LaylaCams LaylaCams
Oh wynter. gotta loves those shifts. my hubby is about to go to swings which is my least fave.
wynter wynter
Layla, my hubby does the same. He works at an AFB and works rotating 24/7 shifts. It sucks. :( This cake sounds delish. It REALLY needs to cool down so I can start running again to counter the weight gain from all these new recipes! lol
