Kids Wearing Make up

I recently saw a picture of a 3 year old girl wearing make up. Her mother has a social network and after putting excessive make up on her daughter, she thought it was cute and she posted it on her profile. Really, is that so cute? I have a 3 year old daughter myself and I would never put make up on her. I wasn't allowed to wear make up till the age of 13. Why would mothers even think that's cute, in the times we're in children are growing too fast. I want my daughter to have a childhood, I would never make her think she has to look older by applying make up on her. What do you it ok to put make up on a child under the age of 12?

I agree. I have to admit thought that my little girl loves to put on pretty princess lipstick and sparkly stickers on her cheeks when ever she dresses up in one of her Fairy costumes. It is so adorable. We were both looking at the new Disney Fairies comic coming out, and you can see for yourself that other than cutely colored lips, there are no signs of even the Fairies using excessive make-up. Girls are naturally beautiful, and definitely don't need make-up unless it is for costume or holiday purposes.

I think kids should be kids, no makeup. As a kid, I could occasionally have nail polish but that was about it unless it was halloween!
