Kim and Khloe Kardashian Had to Learn to Embrace Their Bodies — Did You?

This week, Kim and Khloe Kardashian revealed to Us Weekly that they didn't realize how beautiful their curves were until they were adults. Kim says:

"I never knew to embrace curves. I looked at my aunt and cousins and saw these Armenian women with big butts and boobs, and I didn't really realize how attractive it actually was then. Your perspective grows."

Despite gaining a new perspective as an adult, Kim says that her parents raised her to feel comfortable in her own skin. Khloe added that because of the support from her family she never considered herself as overweight.

"I'd always be in tight dresses. In my head I did not think I was ever fat. Other people did, but I didn't think I was — ever! Because of my family base, I always accepted my natural shape or what I thought it was. I appreciate it now and I want to help other people."

The sisters' way of helping people continues to be promoting QuickTrim diet products though, which I think is a major disappointment. Given that the sisters are always seen working out, it makes more sense to credit exercise and a healthy diet for their weight loss. But given how many people seem to love them, I think it's great that they have always said it's OK to be curvy. Tell me . . .

Fit, can we not talk about the Kardashians for now? I'm getting tired of seeing posts about them.

It's easy to embrace your curves when they're fake. If not for her breast implants, Kim Kardashian would just be a regular short girl with a little extra junk in the trunk. Her saying that she "embraces her curves" likes she's fat and has come to terms with that is ridiculous. She has even admitted to not working out and has been shown on TV opting out for quick-fixes like surgical cellulite removal. She hasn't accomplished anything except throwing money at doctors to make herself feel better with no extra effort, and then getting famous for it because she's ooooooh so sexy with her natural curvy self. Ridiculous. THANKS FOR BEING MY ROLE MODEL, KIM! Most women aren't like you, please don't insult us by trying to compare.

Kardashian or no Kardashian, I have still yet to fully embrace my body, although I have tried and am trying my best to be healthy, I don't know if women are ever fully comfortable with their bodies...I hope so, for my own sake =P

Also, in addition to yet another article about the Kardashians, haven't we heard this same thing about them a hundred times?

As a teenager I was a little uncomfortable with my body. I wasn't overweight, but I was definitely on the bigger side. Anyways, I lost the weight at the end of my sophomore year and that helped me to feel more comfortable about my weight. Then I started to feel conscious of my height, but now that I am in my twenties I'm comfortable with who I am and what I have, I'm not perfect but I embrace it.

I agree with RunningEsq. They now say they embrace their bodies when every other story about them is related to a diet of some sort. It's all a gimmick.

Yes, I've come to embrace my body as a grown-up. My body is very atypical for my family and culture. Also, I blossomed early, so that made for an awkward adolescence.

While their message is certainly nice, I don't think for a second that these women "embrace their bodies." Because they come across as hypocritical, I find their statements more irritating than inspiring. I agree 100% with runningesq in regards to the coverage of these women on this site.

Well while I don't have any proof on Khloe's case I can assure you that Kim's curves were bought. Just look for pictures of her before she started hanging with Paris hilton! She had average B-C cup breasts and NO ASS! She bought them! So embracing her natural curves? really? It really makes me upset that she thinks we are stupid enough to buy her lies. That's why I like Kourtney because she is the only one that has admitted that she had breast implants.

Anon -- it has nothing to do with their body types. I appreciate that Fit showcases women with different types of bodies. What I DON'T aprpeciate is showcasing women who promote quick-fix diets as a way to lose weight.

Why does everyone complain about them? I think it is nice that FitSugar promotes a wide variety of fit women and body types.

Why are we still promoting these worthless women who hack diet products that are useless at best and dangerous at worst?!. This is FITSUGAR, and Fit, I'd really appreciate it if you only featured women who are truly athletic/ healthy/ fit role models.

At least they are using the time for promoting "QuickTrim" to say some useful, positive things. I am pretty sure everyone knows that it's bogus and they're just doing it for the money....

I think all the K sisters are sexy. Toothpick does not = sexy
