A Ladylike Look That'll Wow: 50's Style With a Twist

Fall 2010 runways were full of 50's-inspired styles. From Prada to Louis Vuitton, hemlines were noticably longer and skirts fuller, and a more ladylike approach to dressing seems to be back on trend. For my personal take on this look, I started with one of my favorite dresses of the season, this Prada printed satin number. The shape is definitely demure, but the ruffled bust and bold cutout make this dress anything but prim and proper. Classically feminine heels from Louis Vuitton are modernized with a towering chunky heel, while a Miu Miu framed tote is given a chic twist with a swash of patent leather. For a personal touch and a bit of sparkle, I added a favorite pair of earrings from Ranjana Khan and injected a pop of color via NARS lipstick in Funny Face, one of my favorite shades.
