All she has to do it walk over, pick up the keys, and go into his apartment. By doing this act, another makeup following a long fight will be over with, but how much more can she take? She loves him but cannot take the abuse he has given her anymore, so she stays where she is at..looking at the keys.

I think she got in an argument with her lover, and he threw her out and threw her keys out too! So she HAS the keyes, but doesn't know if she wants to go back in just yet. She is waiting for him to let her back in as she loves him and wants to know if he wants her back.
