I received an email from a reader of my blog (CourtneyOutLoud.wordpress.com) who was having difficulty trying to integrate her traditional china into a modern setting. She is a hip grandmother who happens to love a traditional table. She wanted to do something to appease her daughters who always complained that her holiday tables were too fussy and "old fashioned". Working with a set of vintage teacups and saucers picked up at a resale shop, I tried to create a tablescape that melded the traditional with the modern for a Mother's Day Tea that she could replicate at her own home. In the end, I think I was able to bring a little bit of sass to a lady with a whole lot of class......
