Novel Inspiration #11: Wide Sargasso Sea (WINNER ANNOUNCED)
Thanks so much Malu82 for picking my look!!
For this challenge I was torn between a few great books, and I chose Wide Sargasso Sea, a 1966 postcolonial parallel novel by Dominican-born author Jean Rhys. The novel acts as a prequel to Charlotte Brontë's famous 1847 novel Jane Eyre. It is the story of the first Mrs. Rochester, Antoinette Cosway (known as Bertha Mason in Jane Eyre), a white Creole heiress, from the time of her youth in the Caribbean to her unhappy marriage and relocation to England.
I thought 19th-century Caribbean style as a theme would elicit more than a few creative, beachy, beautiful looks out of the SSers. Go for it!
