Proud Dandelion
This is one of the first pictures I took with my Nikon D40, and one of my favorites to date (possibly because it's one of the first "real" photographs I ever took). There's just something about it that keeps me coming back, even though I have taken thousands of pictures since then. I took it while walking around my neighborhood at sunset, and remember how impossible it was to see through the viewfinder of the D40 while laying in the grass, trying to be shorter than a dandelion of average height. For what it's worth, this was taken with the 18-55mm kit lens.
