REVIEW: Kiehl's Hand Cream & Lip Balm
I've had really dry hands and lips for the past few weeks because of the all the cold weather. My Nivea at night and Propoline just aren't cutting it these days.
So, I picked up Kiehl's Unusually Rich - But Not Greasy At All - Hand Cream with SPF 10 today. It's usually $15.50, which is kind of a lot for hand cream, but I got it 20% off at our exchange.
When it first goes on, it's a little greasy but it absorbs in within 5 minutes. And it has done WONDERS for my hands today. Way better than the Lubriderm or Burt's Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion or Burt's Bees Hand Salve or Dove Energy Glow or even the Nivea mid-day. Not that I've tried a million things lately.
It has not cured my dry hands or anything. I have had to reapply it several times. But, at least it holds the dryness at bay for a few hours at a time - which is more than I can say for the rest of the lot.
The added bonus is that it has SPF 10. It doesn't have a scent, but you can smell the SPF when you first put it on.
I also picked up Kiehl's Lip Balm #1. It's usually $5.50 but I got it 20% off, too.
This balm is very much like vaseline, but not quite as thick, IMO. It goes on fairly shiny and then absorbs in very well. It definitely doesn't just wear off. And it has SPF 4, which is a nice bonus.
This has made my lips very soft today! Due to a cold, I had horribly chapped lips last week even despite religiously using my Propoline. I think this stuff would have fixed them up right quick.
I'm rating these both 4 stars because they're a little pricey. Also, while they are both making my lips/skin feel better and softer, I do have to reapply several times a day.
P.S. I should note that I wash my hands and blow my nose a LOT. So, I'm not an easy test case for these kinds of products.
