Chocolate Chip Cookie, Help!

I have been on a hunt for the best chocolate chip cookie! I just tried Jacques Torres Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies. I was hoping that they would come out perfect and just like the picture showed thick, chocolatey and chewy. As you can see by my picture and I followed the recipe exactly, the cookies were flat and so sweet. I did like the cookie to chocolate ratio though but the rest of the cookie was a huge disappointment. I was wondering does anyone have a GREAT chocolate chip cookie recipe they would like to share.

These are my new favorite chocolate chip cookies. I found this recipe a month ago and I've made two batches already. They are perfect if you like flat, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside cookies. http://www.kaitsplate.com/2010/02/tuesdays-with-dorie-my-best-chocolate.html

yeah and bake until they are just slightly underbaked... then take them out of the oven, keep on pan for 10mins then move to a wire rack. :) Then they are soft & chewy.

Try freezing the dough an hour before baking. It should help them not spread like they did.

This is one I made recently, to rave reviews: Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour 1 t baking powder 1/2 t salt 1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened1 c butter, softened 3/4 c white sugar 3/4 c brown sugar 1 large egg 1 t vanilla extract 2 c chocolate chips Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C). In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder & salt; set aside. With electric mixer, cream butter, cream cheese & sugars til light and fluffy. Blend in egg & vanilla. Add flour mixture & mix well. Add chocolate chips & stir just to combine. Drop by spoonfuls on to non-stick baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake 12-15 minutes or til edges are slightly browned. Makes 4 dozen. Note: the cream cheese makes these very sweet. I like to add a Tablespoon of instant espresso, and use high quality 60% cacao chips made by Ghirardelli. Everybody loves 'em!
