If Sephora forgot to include one of your free samples in an order, would you call and complain?

I just received a Sephora order in the mail (nothing too fancy, just a refill on my BE and an awesome eyeshadow La_Clique turned me on to).
I'd ordered my three regular samples and then I had a coupon code for a deluxe sample. I selected the Laura Gellar Spackle, since I'm running low. Oh, and I also got an exclusive sample of Urban Decay Primer Potion which is awesome since I just ran out.

Anyway, the Spackle was missing from my order. So, I called them up and they said they'd send one out. I feel like kind of a tool, though, because it was a FREE sample, y'know?

Would you call and complain if a free sample was left out of your order?

UPDATE: Here are some photos of the Urban Decay shadow. Forgive the photo quality; the iPhone takes better photos than the average phone but they're still kinda crappy. The color is fairly accurate, though, it's a champagne-y pink.

I would def call about the deluxe sample, but not just a regular one. You can regular ones in the store.

:rotfl: You nitpicky old crank! ;) I would call them too or email; even though it was free like you mentioned I order from them online for the samples. If they didn't offer samples I would just buy from the store and 1) save on shipping and 2) not have to wait on the order to arrive.

I put other. I don't think you were wrong in complaining, and you sound like you did it in a nice way, but I personally wouldn't have called just because it was only a sample.

I definitely would email or call. They advertise their samples so much, they should stand behind their offer. I am sure it was an error and it is no big deal for them to fix the error. I have emailed several companies about problems with orders or service and I put a lot on the response I get. Makes me feel good knowing Sephora handled this so nicely. If they were rude, that would have said a lot about the company and policies.

For a regular sample, probably not. Since you used a code, it's a deluxe, and you need the sample, I would.

I would definitely call. I totally agree with Shi and SPM. Don't feel bad. The samples are the reason you buy from them over other places and you had that code that you used which would have saved on shipping or given you a percentage off.

I would, but I would be extra nice and sweet so they wouldn't talk about me...but hell, even if they did, as long as I got my sample I wouldn't be too concerned!

I wouldn't call, but that's just because I'd feel silly. I'm sure you're not the only one that's called and if she was nice about it then I'm sure she thought nothing of it.

Good point, SPM. The only reason I ever order from Sephora.com instead of just going to the store is to get the samples.

Ooh, that's the one I almost ordered but got Shag (light bronze) instead. Let us know how fabulous it is! . :makeup: Hopefully I get my UD order today so I can "Shag" when I get home. :ROTFL:

I would call for sure. Maybe the sample makes ordering from them a better deal than ordering from somewhere else. If they're going to use something extra to get you to order from them, you should get the extra thing.

I'd definitely call about a deluxe sample. I wouldn't worry about the smaller ones though.
