Short Hair Gals - Models and Celebs with inspiring dos Part 1

Models who have had short cuts:

Agyness Deyn has had a range of short hair dos:

Anja Rubik also used to have really great short hair:

Jacquetta Wheeler has a little bit longer cut, but still short:

Now on to celebrities!

Halle Berry is my number 1 fave pixie of the moment!

As lilkim mentioned, Carey Mulligan is also currently rocking the pixie!

Michelle Williams was wearing a wig for her Vogue shoot, but it's the cutest haircut (and the one I"m currently rocking)

I know I'm late to the party, and no one comes out to play on the weekends, but I'm killing time until we leave for a concert that starts wayyy past my bedtime. I wish I had never started dying my hair and I would definitely discourage anyone from doing it. I like my hair, but it never feels as soft as it did before I started coloring it. Re: hair cuts (short and long) I don't think celebrity photos are helpful unless you blur out the faces or something. Obviously Charlize Theron looks great with short hair. She'd look amazing if she shaved her head and was wearing my bathrobe. It's hard to google for hairstyles and not come up with celebrities, but a google image search of like "my new short hair" or "my new pixie" pulls up some.

I'm a hair dye virgin too. :) I've had grays along my partline since my 20's. So I can't decide if I want to get rid of them or just suck it up and deal with them!

I just remembered this one! Anna from the OC!!! Sorry if that's a repeat!
syako syako 6 years 11 weeks
I've only dyed once, back in my undergrad. I hated it! It was way too harsh (it was from a box). I have my natural hair color now, which I really like, but I'm getting grays... :( All around my crown they just keep popping up (thanks mom!)

I'm the same way you are haus. I'm too cheap to get them now, plus as I get older, my hair color is actually turning into something rather pretty. I get complimented on it a lot. But I did the same thing with the blonde highlights. One day I looked and it was like, YIKES!

I just completely change it all of the time. I mean, I usually do it myself and my hair tends to look lighter than the "pictured color" for brown dyes, but I'll go from light blond to reddish-blond, to dark brown, to medium brown. The only colors I don't do are true red and really dark brown/almost black. I've done pretty much every other color, though. And I have very neutral skin, so I can do warm or cool; for some reason I like warm browns and cool blonds.

Haus, I'm the complete opposite! I keep going slightly darker each time I dye my hair, until I wake up one day and realize I've gone a medium brunette which is way too dark for my skintone.

I used to get highlights but now I'm too lazy (and cheap!)... Plus its like an addiction! You think, Oh I'll just go a lil lighter... then next time "Well a lil bit lighter" and the next time and the next time... Finally I was like an ash blonde and I was thought WHOA. Step away from the bleach.

No greys for me.... knock on wood. Watch and I'll have some tomorrow.

lol Yoga!! Yes we exist :) My mom's one too... she's 54 and has never colored her hair! Although, I've had a few body waves. So I don't know if I'm a real hair virgin. Kim, I love my hair color. So that's why I've never colored it. It's brown with natural red highlights. And like Yoga said, I don't want to have trouble getting back to my natural color. Snarky- I'm starting to get greys. I'm 23! WTF!! There are only about 3 though and when I see them out they come!

i'm a hair virgin too kiki!!! i don't wanna sound conceited, but i just love my hair color too much! i can't imagine having a different color! but once i start getting greys...that's a different story :)
Yogaforlife Yogaforlife 6 years 11 weeks
Kiki, I always thought it was an urban legend that there were hair virgins out there! If you have never colored it, I would recommend doing the drastic cut first. It's easier to grow out your hair than it is to get rid of color once it's on there. At least for me it is, but then I'm blonde and it's hard to get back natural blonde.
lilkimbo lilkimbo 6 years 11 weeks
Kiki, that's great that you've never colored it! Mine has been colored a ridiculous amount of times; I think I first got it colored (really subtle hi-lites, but still), when I was 13. I'm pretty sure my natural color is a hideously boring brown-ish color. Not that I don't like brown hair, but I think my natural shade is a blah shade of brown. (I don't know for sure because I don't let my roots grow in very long.) At this point, I have what I think are a ton of greys, too, so I am coloring it even more often than usual.

Kim, I'm afraid of drastically changing my hair too. I don't even color it. It's never been colored! Since I'm getting married next Jan and I want a specific hairstyle that requires long hair I am growing it out right now. After that though, I'm going to get up the nerves to color it or cut it drastically. It's even on my "bucket list"!! haha!!
Yogaforlife Yogaforlife 6 years 12 weeks
Me too! If I decide to do a drastic cut, I'll do a before and after.

Yoga....I will see if I am brave enough to put my face out on the internet! :P My appointment is in April - getting a head start on finding the cut. Like I said, I SOOOOO want a change!
Yogaforlife Yogaforlife 6 years 12 weeks
martini can you post before/after photos! That would be fabulous - we'd give you nothing but love of course!
syako syako 6 years 12 weeks
Martini, I just thought of something. If and when you decide which cut you want to do, I'd try to find pictures of the style in as many angles as possible (at the least have one shot from the front, one from the side). It helps your stylist better understand the whole thing. Also, if you've been going to the same hair stylist for a while, ask her opinion. She'll know what your hair is "capable of" and will probably be able to suggest what won't work and what will.
Yogaforlife Yogaforlife 6 years 12 weeks
Sy what a great post! Love it! I love Anja's.
hausfrau hausfrau 6 years 12 weeks
I think all your noses aare fabulous!
syako syako 6 years 12 weeks
I have a pretty big nose too. But it's more long than big, I think.
lilkimbo lilkimbo 6 years 12 weeks
I'm always wanting to change my hair (and I do change the color frequently), but I don't have the courage to rock a pixie cut. Like some of the other ladies on the other thread, I think I have too big a nose to look good with that kind of cut. Now I have a kind of generic bob with bangs, but I do like it.
syako syako 6 years 12 weeks
It's amazing how long Michelle's hair really is. Like I said, that's how I have my hair now and it took me about 5 months to grow it out! I had no clue it was that long. I like it, but I think I'm ready for it to be shorter again. I'm just too fickle about these things.
lilkimbo lilkimbo 6 years 12 weeks
Cute pics, sy! Michelle Williams does look adorable with that cut. I think hers is my favorite of the ones shown. I like pixies with a little more length/shape (like hers) as opposed to really choppy ones (like the first picture of Agyness). Although, I suppose it all depends on the person, too.
