Something strange is happening...

I have no idea if this is a Sugar thing or my web browser (I'm on Firefox 3.6.3)....but it seems when I click on the new comments for a particular blog, the first part of the comment gets cut off when the page loads and I have to scroll up to see what the comment is. Confused yet? :)

This is what it looks like:

Like I said...I don't know if my browser is on some funky setting, or if it's a Sugar thing...but I hope the Sugar computer wizards can shed some light on this weird glitch! :)

Hey lauren....that thing Snarky talked about (clicking new comment takes you to the top of the comments) is happening to me occasionally too. Not with any of my groups, but if I go from my Tracker to a post on FitSugar, it'll take me to the first comment, even if I've been there before.

Oh a safari fan! Hopefully it should be fixed next week, I will let you know snarkypants and thanks for letting us know! Have a great long weekend!

thanks lauren. i figured that was the case. i'm one of those oddballs who prefers safari to firefox, but i'll survive :)

snarkypants, you are correct, it is a little wacky on Safari but our engineering team is looking into it. If you want you can try downloading firefox until we get it fixed! Thanks so much for pointing it out!

Strange snarkypants, I will test Safari further and see if I can recreate it! Thanks and stay tuned!

but it takes me to the top on posts i've already read too...

hey Snarkypants, have you already viewed the post? If you haven't seen the post already, it will take you to the top of page. Basically it should sort of feel like an RSS reader for the Sugar sites, groups you are subscribed to and OnSugar blogs. If you haven't read the post, it will take you to the top regardless of the comments. If you have already read the post, then it keeps track of comments. Does that make more sense?

hi lauren. it's actually every single post that i have trouble with. i didn't even know that that's how the tracker was supposed to work! it has always taken me to the top of the last page whenever i click on "new" oh, and i'm using safari 4.0.5 for mac, if that helps :)

Glad to hear your problem is solved bluesarahlou! Now onto snarkypants' issue, so it should be taking to the most recent comment you haven't read. So if there are 20 comments and you haven't visited that post yet, it will take you to the first one. If there are 20 comments and you have already read the first 5, it will take you to the 6th comment. Can you send me a link to the post that you are having trouble with and I will see if there is some strangeness! Thanks!

when i click on the new comments in the tracker, it just takes me to the most recent page in the thread, not the most recent comment. is it supposed to take you to the comment?
lauren lauren 4 years 16 weeks
Hey everyone! Thanks for your patience and sorry about all the extra scrolling this week but good news, our engineers have fixed the problem. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems.

Yeah like Martini said....it's happening when I click on the comment from the Tracker. I'm not the only one! :highfive:
lauren lauren 4 years 17 weeks
I get to testing! Thanks for the information and I will let you know what the engineers can do! This just started happening, right? Have a great weekend!

I tested in by just clicking on the comments from a blog page and it didn't happen from there.

The same is happening to me, I am also on the same version of Firefox. It happens when I click on the comments from My Tracker.
lauren lauren 4 years 17 weeks
bluesarahlou-thanks for the screenshot and all of the information! Are you clicking on comments from My Tracker or from the actual blog page. Let me know and I will investigate this strangeness a little more! Thanks!
