So...what do 6 year old boys like?
You'd think I'd know this.
The only thing he's asking for is Better Batter Baseball (which we're getting him) and GI Joes. The child has everything related to GI Joes that exists so that's really not an option (any guess what he wants to be when he grows up? lol).
I'm stumped. I thought about maybe a scooter or a small skateboard with pads, but we don't really have sidewalks around here for him to ride it on. He has k-nex, the magnetic building things, imaginext, train set, way too many cars, tons of superhero stuff, a bike (two actually thanks to my parents), sports stuff galore... Basically we have all the age appropriate boy toys covered since we have two sons nearly the same age. That's been my only problem having them so close together, lol
He loves video games, so I was toying around with the idea of a Wii, Nintendo DS, or something similar. I'm going to focus on keeping them outside and active this summer and away from the games though so that's really not a great gift idea! lol He got way too addicted to them this winter when he couldn't go out as much, and I'm trying to keep them away from it as much now that the weather is nicer.
So for those of you with sons, nephews, whatever around that age - what do they really like? If I ask him what else he wants, he says "Nothing." A lot of help he is. Then again, this is the same kid who told me not to buy him any presents last year because the kids he saw on tv needed them more (one of those 3rd world infomercials). *sigh* He's my sweet, good-hearted, never thinks of himself child. I hope he stays that way.
Pricewise - we're looking at $200 or less total. A little more than usual for a birthday, but that's only because the party we have planned for him isn't going to work out with Brandon's surgery date so close to his birthday. We're going to do a small family party instead with a few cousins. I'm having major guilt over that since he was looking forward to it, but this year is just not a good year for it. There's way too much going on without adding the party too.
Thanks in advance for any help! His birthday is on the 8th, so I have about 3 weeks left (really 2 since I'll probably have to order online, lol).
