Supersized Introductory Post: Hi I'm Jessie and I'm a BPJ

Well I thought I'd make a huge post to let anyone know, who's interested, up on who I am and the make up I like. I've read so many post this weekend going back for months and I wanted to participate. I'm not new to sugar, but I am new to this group Smiling.

Hmmm where to start...I love Sephora, the Body Shop, and BBW. I pretty much shop those places exclusively. Department stores give me the hives. I have normal to dry skin and I find it so interesting that skin moisture types tends to play the main role in make up choice. I just made a huge Sephora purchase on top of a huge Sephora online purchase (FF Discount Smiling) that I am still waiting for. I didn't intend to buy so much the second time, I came for hair conditioner, but Sephora does something to me. I am a college student, but make up budgets are never a concern. I love Love make up, but I am a recreational user Sticking out tongue. I have never run out of a single thing except lip gloss. Most days I go bare face. I'm in an exploratory faze right now with foundations. Growing up a woman of color (Cuban/African/Japenese American) there were never shades to match my skin and even now I can't "save" on foundation. BE, MUFE, and Cover FX are the only brands that carry my shades. Pigmentation is an issue for me too. If the color isn't intense it will white out on me. White out is what I call a color that shows up like a "white powder" on me instead of a color. Anyways what I really want to get to are the fun pictures.

This is my current Stash:

Sephora Brand Professional Platinum Natural Rounded Powder Brush
Body Shop - Face & Body Brush
Body Shop - Blush Brush
BE - Angeled Blush Brush
Body Shop - Mineral Kabuki Brush

Sheer Cover - Eye Shadow Brush
Body Shop - Mineral Eye Shadow Brush
Sheer Cover Concealer Brush
Sheer Cover - Slanted Eye Liner Brush
Body Shop - Retractable Lip Brush

From this point on I will most likely exclusively buy brushes from the Body Shop (synthetic) and Sephora (natural hair). Top notch quality. I feel like the Body Shop brushes are some strange untold secret. They are amazing. On my list of future things to buy is the Sephora Kabuki brush. I am not a fan of BE brushes. They are cheap, scratchy and do not blend well IMO.

Blue bottle is a trial Sekkisei toner...I'm still not sure what toner is for?
Clinique - All about the eyes (Got it for free. I generally an anti-Clinique products)
Burts Bees - Overnight eye creme (I really like it)
Some days I just wear Prime Time and Tinted Mineral Veil...it is good stuff for dry skin. Really evens out texture.
Sephora Double Loop Extractor...This addiction is all Bella's fault. I don't have blackheads, but I get really aggressive white heads on my chin. Haha die white heads die...

BE Deepest Deep SPF 15 Foundation (My summer foundation I'm already to light for it...must.blend.well.)
BE Tinted Mineral Veil
Laura Geller - Blush - N - Brighten in "Golden Apricot" (It is a brown skin version of Peach blush)
LORAC - Crimson Blush
Laura Mercier - Blushing Apple (favorite impulse buy)
Headsmack I accidently left out BE Warmth...well you guys all know what it looks like (I like to mix a bit with my foundation for a color closer to my skin tone.

Body Shop - Shimmer Waves in Bronze (It is so pretty for summer)
Diandra Eye Shadow Trio in "Plum Fantasy" (I inherited this from my mom I have no idea where this brand comes from)
Clinique Fresh Bloom Allover Color in "Almond Blossom" (Another freebee, I use it as an eyeshadow)
MUFE Full Cover Concealer in Chocolate (Lightweight and full coverage, what more could you ask for? Haha, oh yeah a primer. I have discovered this makes an excellent eyeshadow primer. I only use concealer under my eyes so it is cool that it can do double duty.)
Sheer Cover Highlighting Lotion

BE Aubergine Blush
BE Blushing Beauty Blush (I got all of my BE Blushes and brushes free with the Bella Sugar give away) I use this one as an eyeshadow
BS Bronzed Amber ES
BS Golden Emerald ES
BE Here Kitty ES
BE T.L.C. ES
BE Black Emerald ES
BE Sugar Plum ES

Sheer Cover Classic Brown Defining Eye Liner & Smudger
Sheer Cover Black/Brown Extra Length Mascara
Sheer Cover Classic Black Extra Length Mascara
Body Shop Lip Color
Benefit Full Finish Lipstick in "Wild Card" (I am new to lipstick. I have large lips phobia, but I do know I like them moisturizing and temporary)
Sheer Cover Creme Eye Liner in "Expresso Shot"

BS Lip Gloss trial...not a fan of the smell and texture, but I like the color shrug
BBW Liplicious flavored lip glosses. Such amazing colors (strong pigmentation) and consistency (I think I lost my favorite color "Watermelon Sorbet" )
BBW C.O. Bigelow Ultra Metha Lip Shine. Very shiney and it smells and tastes like peppermint. I lick my lips a lot so I love flavored lip gloss...and my gf's like them too Eye-wink.

Strays that got left out:
LORAC Serenity Trial
BE R.S.V.P Blush (I use it as an eyeshadow)

Sephora Splurge
I went in the middle of the day and spent and hour and a half. It was theraputic. It was also the first time I realized they would make you samples Love. You can see them in the little plastic containers on the mini zip lock bags.

Me (without make up) with my new brush...it is made from the softest and most efficient goat hair. It was love at first sight.

I never do lips and eyes, but I'd thought I'd play around with my make up. The lip gloss is more cranberry in real life. I call it Autumn Love. I'm a mascara nazi. I'm not a big fan of it for day time use. I prefer to just wipe the powder off my lashes and go au naturale. When I do use it I am a huge fan of Sheer Cover's mascara. I didn't like the make up, but I really loved the accessory products (explains why you see so much scattered). Though I am no longer a member I will try to continue to buy the mascara. I think you have to pay a but more, it isn't worth it for the over products, but it is for the mascara. Good stuff.

Ok I am so sorry if this is too long...I got a bit excited. I will post my online order in another post later.

Welcome! I completely agree about the BE brushes! At least the ones that came in the Starter Kit – they are scratchy and had bristles falling out after the first use. Thanks for the heads up on the Body Shop brushes; I’m definitely going to check those out. Sephora even gives samples of perfume (in special spray containers)!

You look great !!! I, as a white woman, am always too pale for foundation so I don't wear it. Anyhow, I love the lip gloss. Welcome.

It looks even better when the white light of my laptop isn't shining on my face. I used my macbook camera to take the picture. Everyones skin is different Snow. My thing is that I have naturally luminescent skin and make up that isn't sheer or multifaceted makes me look odd in the daylight. Matte is fine for evenings or special occasions when I look "made up." BE really caters to all my skin color's dimensions. I do hate when people say mineral make up won't make you break out cause it is all natural. True, if you are sensitive to perfumes and dyes that is the case and it is probably better for everyone sensitive or not, but people can be perfectly allergic to natural things. I'm allergic to grass, pollen and everything green and planty and grass is perfectly natural.

Omg this was the best diversion from studying ever. I also have a college-sized budget but almost never scrimp on makeup! Except I *hate* BE! But it did turn out really gorgeous on you, so... I just had a bad experience there once. I have acne prone skin, and the Sephora helper or whatever they call them put an inch-thick mask of it on my face, and it felt horrible, and I looked and felt like a freak. I'm a MAC girl...I'll have to share sometime too! :)

Awesome :) AParker, I knew I couldn't be the only person who loved their brushes. Their make up is lacking. It doesn't bother me much because most of the pigments aren't strong enough for brown skin and none of their foundations come in my color, so I disregard their make up in general. They do make beautiful highlighters though...like shimmer waves I have in my stash. I will definitely look into Skin Boost and will do with the mascara. I have to make sure my fav is in the running for great mascara.

Welcome to the community, Jessie! I'm writing you a supersized comment to match your equally large post :P I adore TBS brushes - omg, they are *so* soft! You can't beat the customer service, either :D I find that their MU is a little lacking, though - it's nothing special but for most of the items I feel the prices are much too high. Definitely look into their Skin Boost if you ever need a little priming, though! It makes my skin crazy soft and smooth, plus it smells deliciously like a fresh citrusy burst :P I usually blend my foundation (Sandy Fair and Light Olive in EDM - almost the complete opposite of your skintone, lol!) Anyhow, maybe try mixing a little bit of your current foundation with a bit of your veil and see how it goes. If that doesn't work, then it's off to Sephora for winter foundation with you! (Oh, what a chore :P) Gorgeous stash - I can't wait to read more from you!! (Also, we *totally* want before/after photos of your HG mascara - it sounds fab!)

Hey Jessie, you've got some great stuff in your stash! I really love your eyeshadow in the last picture. And I think your lips look beautiful with that color gloss.

Hey, Jessie, welcome! :-)

Thanks, I never really had a "stash" until a year ago, sometimes I go a little crazy with tossing stuff out. I never want to keep two things if I find that something works better and most of make up serves more then one purpose. My cousin kept trying to get me into eyeshadow, but I it took me a while to come around.

Also, great stash! I love the colors of your eyeshadows. Can any policy, however high minded, be moral if it leads to widespread corruption, imprisons so many, has so racist an effect, destroys our inner cities, wreaks havoc on misguided & vulnerable individuals and brings death and destruction to foreign countries?
