Thanksgiving Tablescape
Thanksgiving always reminds me of Fall - actually the best of what Fall has to offer. It is a time to celebrate abundance and riches, however you interpret them. When I was creating this tablescape, I wanted to play up all the wonderful colors that Fall gives us in such showy fashion - rich purples, deep oranges and golden ambers. I took my inspiration from traditional elements, like a cornucopia that I used for the centerpiece. However, I opted to fill it with not just pumpkins but with beautiful purple succulents, gourds, flowers, fruits, herbs and flowers to create a showstopper centerpiece. In turn, the centerpiece essentially told me how to lay out the rest of the tablescape - royal purples in the dishware and tablecloth, amber in the glassware and touches of reflection in the brass napkin holders and crystal candlesticks.
I got a table that borrowed heavily from traditional elements but didn't get tied to tradition, creating a modern take on the Thanksgiving table......
