Trendy Kitchen Helpers
I am (in my own mind) a chef. My kids agree and the small restaurant I run is sort of an affirmation that I kind of know what I am doing. I am also a gagdet nut. A sucker for anything new in the kitchen. If I don't have it, I need it. Here are a few of the latest devices for the kitchen that I have my eye on:
1- Talking Measuring Cup- How cool would it be to have a virtual assistant in the kitchen? A helper of sorts that is simply there to tell you how much sugar you just poured. Genius. I have hinted around about this one to the husband for a few weeks now, but my birthday has come and gone with no talking cup in sight.
2- Self Stirrer - I am LOVING this one. A pot that literally stirs itself. Seriously, where has this been all of my life?!? Price is a whole other subect, but imagine how much more you can get done in the kitchen (especially if you own a restaurant!) without having to worry with stirring things! This was quickly upgraded from a want to a "need"!
3- Steamwave - I have every type of oven you can imagine. From my home based Whirpool to my restaurant's commercial grade combi, but one of the newest ovens on the market is a little something that combines a steamer, grill and microwave all in one. This oven creates pure steam without microwave energy and by doing so, it retains vitamins in the food. Especially for those who think that microwaves are harmful, this is a dream oven!
Christmas is just around the corner, I hope I've been REALLY good this year (because this list is getting longer and more expensive!)
