V Smile or Leapster TV?

My parents would like to buy my 3 year old some sort of educational tv system. I know my son will love it, he's actually pretty good at using the computer, and I like the fact that they are all educational. I think a TV version would be better for him than a handheld, but if you have a different opinion please let me know and why. Which system do you prefer and why?

I am trying to figure out the same thing for my 5 and 3 year olds. I want something educational but fun, too.

My almost 4 year old has the smaller, handheld Leapster. It is wonderful!! It not only keeps him entertained when we're in the car, on the boat, at a friends house, at his grandparent's house... but it's educational too (and it fits in my big ol' purse.) I love buying some used/outgrown games on ebay too!
