Many holidays I love to go all out on, Valentine's Day doesn't actually make that list but I still like to celebrate with a good bottle of wine and a home cooked dinner! This year was simple - good bottle of red wine specifically a bottle of Madrigal Sonnet 63, a homemade pizza, salad and the best-ever brownies. The wine was definitely a little too big at first but mellowed out but I think I might have picked something a little less bold for our vegetarian meal! But regardless was still a perfect way to spend a Monday night!
@katzpajamas, of course, I am making another pizza this week, so I will be sure to post my tips! It is one of the easiest meals to make for a quick dinner! Can't wait to see what you are trying too!
Hey Lauren-- please do post more how-to pics! I have been in the "testing" phase with TJ's pizza dough for a while now, and would love some tips to take to it the next level..Something I can share with friends :)
OhMaxine, I will have to do a taste test of my pizza doughs I have bought dough from both Trader's Joes and Berkeley Bowl. They both made pretty tasty pizzas but I wasn't paying that close attention to the bread. I will have to see if any of my local pizza places or bakeries will let me buy raw pizza dough from them. And your list sounds pretty TASTY!
ya the pizza dough makes it or break it! .. at least I believe that! I go to a local artisan bread company in Fort Worth, TX and the owner makes the best pizza dough! ... an naan, and chickpea crackers, and rustic italian bread... haha i could go on and on!
My Valentine was pretty lucky but so I am he helped cook the whole thing too! The pizza was SUPER easy! I will take more how to pictures the next time I make one, I have been trying to get a perfect pizza with store bought dough and a regular kitchen oven, I am almost there! Lots of testing involved! :)
