What color walls for a room with green carpeting?
I need to paint the walls in a room that has some pretty ugly green carpeting, but I don't know what color would look good.
Here's some samples of the color of carpet I'm dealing with.
This is with flash
This is with natural light
I know that the complementary color should be red or red/violet shade, since that's what's across from green on the color wheel.

And I know about this 60/30/10 rule...but still, I don't know what to do! Would the green carpeting be considered the 30% whereas the walls 60% (and then accents 10%)? And then how do I figure in the complementary red shade?
Currently the walls are white, and it makes the room feel dark, cold, and sterile. I want the room to become a warm and inviting bedroom. This room has two windows on adjacent walls and faces northeast, and is approximately 14'x12'. I feel that painting the walls is the cheapest way for me to transform this space, though I'd be open to buying a relatively cheap floor rug to possibly define/complement the space as well as hide the abused carpet.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
