What's Your Favorite Distance?

I remember during my last half marathon I got a buddy of mine to run with me. Right when I hit the wall at mile 11 I muttered "I am *never* doing an ultra" and he replied with an "(expletive) no!" Needless to say, we each have our own preference with regards to distance because we each have different strengths and weaknesses as runners. What's your favorite distance?

I have been doing 5Ks everyday ever since I started running, which is about a year already or so.. But there's actually a lot more about running you can learn from training more on long-distance.. esp in terms of endurance vs resistance! so yeah.. that's why I chose a half-marathon.. just enough to practice strength training with lots of patience, and tons of endorphins! =)

I run a 5K everyday, but I'm a beginner runner. I can't wait until I can do a 10K everyday!

I have to say that I am most intimidated by 5ks. I'm more of a longer distance runner, but with 5ks, they are hard. It's all speed!!!!

I like my 5ks because due to my work and school schedule I like distances that I can squeeze into my busy day. I have no problem though running a 10k though, but only if I have time.

I will say 1/2 marathon. Just like Chloe and Carmen. I felt exhausted after a marathon and can't do much for the rest of the day. But a 1/2 marathon is a good distance - I can push a little bit to get better time and not too tired after the race.

I said 10k because I like something longer than a 5k but I haven't worked my self up to a half-marathon yet. Here's hoping!

I am! In LA! I'm so stoked! I never in a million years thought I would be doing half or full marathons...and now I think I'm addicted to running :)

That's awesome! Are you doing the Nike+ Human Race?! I'm sure you could run a full marathon! I am with carmenspace though and will do 1-2 marathons a year. It takes a LOT of time and effort. 13.1 is my favorite distance.

I just started running "seriously" in the past 4 ish months...I'm actually running my first race (a 10k) tomorrow! It's funny because in high school I thought 2 miles was soooooooo long...and now I'm comfortably running 7. I have a half marathon in my sights for February...I keep saying I don't think I could ever run a full marathon, but who knows! I'm constantly surprising myself :)

I've run 3 marathons, and will run more, but the distance takes so much out of you. I'd rather do more shorter races and maybe 1 marathon a year.

I like everything but 26.2 I'll *run* a marathon but only once in a blue moon.

Hmmm, I put half-marathon, just because it's rewarding to run over 10 miles but still not too hard. I guess I like all the distances though!

I run a 10k every single day. It's obviously my favorite distance. :)
