I eat all these except for watercress and beets - but I'm not opposed to them! I drink lemon water occasionally, but not regularly. I'll have to pick up a lemon or two to keep on hand.

Almost every one of these claims provides a link to another article where you can find more information. For example, the artichoke claim was published in European Food Research and Technology, a scholarly peer-reviewed journal. Now where is the support for your claim that this is "folk wisdom"?

This piece is full of misinformation and very little sourcing and citations for its claims. Some of the claimed "detoxifying" effects have not been proven and are based on folk wisdom, not nutritional research. The doctor's credentials are not identified, either.
i just got on the artichoke kick after watching julie and julia. soooo good and you get full cause it takes forever to eat! i did less butter more lemon
