Which phone do you recommend?

My phone has officially kicked the bucket. I was trying to hold off until Mother's Day, but that's impossible now. It hardly holds a charge for more than a few hours now, and Brandon has torn off most of the number keys (I've been using a pen to dial - lol). I could tolerate all of that for a few weeks, but my pin bent where it gets charged somehow (still haven't figured that one out), so I can't charge it now. Nice.

Since I haven't replaced my phone in a couple of years, I can definitely get the upgrade with the cell phone company. I just need to decide which one to get. So...which would you girls recommend?

This is the one I have now...RIP phone

These are the ones I'm looking at.

I have Motorola Razr V3MR, but it's not red, so that's what I recommend =)

Red RAZR....I own one so I'm partial to them.

No kidding, wynter. Charging you extra for buying it in the store is LAME. Sprint does that too, and I had to raise some hell when I got a $125 bill for my "free" phone. I still ended up paying something like $36.

We went to the store yesterday and looked at all of them (except the SLVR which wasn't in the store). I think we're going with the RAZR. I liked the Nokia, but the glass front scared me when I saw the size. I could see the boys dropping and breaking it. If we didn't use our cell phones as our only phone line, it would be easy enough to keep the phone away from them, but they have to talk to their grandparents. :) The KRZR was nice, but I'm not sure if I'll use the features enough to pay the extra $100 for it. It's cheaper to order them online to buy them in the store (free shipping too), so I still haven't bought it yet. Buying a phone shouldn't be this complicated. :p

I just got the Nokia and I love it.

I like the Red Razr! And it helps the AIDs campaign too!

Eek, I don't need one that accidently calls 911. LOL Jake called them twice accidently when he was a baby, and they don't like having to come to your house for no reason. I didn't either. They were like...are you sure everything is okay? We did get a call from this residence. Do you mind if we look around? and proceeded to go through my entire house (glad it was clean). Only my kids...

Good to know, Twink. Thanks!

You can lock a slider Jen.
jennifer76 jennifer76 7 years 22 weeks
:rotfl: Layla!! See, a flip phone doesn't work for me because you *can't* lock the keys and Baby A can flip open a flip phone with the quickness. If your name starts with an A, she *has* called you.

I just bought a Nokia 5300 Xpress which is also a slider. It's nice because I can open it easily with one hand and don't have to worry about accidentally calling 911. Nokias are good quality phones, the batteries last a long time (I charge mine once a week) and they are Finnish. ;) I vote Nokia!

Woo-hoo! 8 votes! Team Razr!

Get the black Razr V3. There are tons of faceplates you can buy, the maroon colour included. Of course, you could buy the maroon one and get a black faceplate, too. Anyway, I've got the black Razr, they're definitely the neatest phones around.

colorme and layla, that's hilarious about the 911 calls! I think I'll stick to a flip phone after hearing those stories.

RAZR great Phone!

Not that I think dialing 911 when it's not an emergency is funny at all!
LaylaCams LaylaCams 7 years 22 weeks
My husband has the SLVR and he never locks his phone, I wish I had a dollar for every time he's accidentally dialed 911. The first time was the funniest, we were out so he couldn't really hear his phone that well so he was screaming in the phone "I SAID WHO IS THIS?! WHO?! Oh..911." :rotfl:

I'd go for the Nokia, they're easy to use and last long
wynter wynter 7 years 22 weeks
He's pushing for the Nokia, because we already have the car & house chargers for it. lol
wynter wynter 7 years 22 weeks
The KRZR is the one I'm wanting, but I have to talk my hubby into it. It's $200 with the 2 year contract, and he's afraid the kids will mess it up like my last one. The others are $100 and less. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the extra $100+ though. He won't give the others a second thought, but I think $200 for a phone (when I have to renew my contract too) is pushing it for him, lol Without the contract, it's $329.99 - too pricey for me when I'll probably only have it 2-3 years!
colormesticky colormesticky 7 years 22 weeks
After accidentally dialing 911 on my old (non-flip) phone, I only want something where the keys are covered when I'm not using it. I voted RAZR, but the KRZR is okay too. My only complaint about them is the metal casing- your ear gets a little cold shock when you first answer. :)
Oread Oread 7 years 22 weeks
I voted Nokia; you had one before (and I have one too), liked it & it lasted you a long time. Also, that new one looks pretty sweet, I like that it's not a flip (I'm not a fan of flip phones), but the number keys are covered most of the time. Nice choice. :D
