Holy cow! A Russian woman delivered her 12th child weighing 17 pounds. I don't even know if my 7 month old is 17 pounds yet! Congrats!

^colormesticky, I'm so sorry to hear that about your mom and brother! I'm glad they came through that ok. I know those big babies are usually from diabetic moms. I remember my obgyn telling me he had to recently brake the shoulder (or arm?) of a baby he was delivering because it was so big and they had no idea the baby was so big. Anyway, the baby was in distress and they had to get her out quick. Childbirth can still be very risky.

My older brother weighed nearly 15 lbs. when he was born. He looked like a 6 month old, they had to cut the shoulders on all the onesies they bought to fit his head through. My mom became diabetic and both she and David nearly died. But at the time they set the hospital record for biggest baby.

That's still a heck of a lot of weight to be carrying around. I can't imagine. I wonder if she's a diabetic. They tend to have large babies (but 17 lbs. is freakish).

The woman writes, "I ate everything, we don't have the money for special foods so I just ate potatoes, noodles and tomatoes. She doesn't have money for food but has money to have 12 kids! Do they have welfare there! Someone tie up her tubes please !
